Our quaint community itself boasts one of the most popular hikes in the valley (Bodenburg Butte, you can see this from the house), one of the top tourist must-see spots (Williams Reindeer Farm - visit our neighbors featured on Yukon Vet and Discovery's "Dirty Jobs", you won’t regret it!), a U-Pick vegetable farm (Pyrahs), a convenience shop/general store(The Green Store, they are the best:), liquor store, cannabis dispensary, pizza shop, international market, laundromat and sometimes food trucks. Local guides can take you on an ATV excursion through local Jim Creek, all the way to Knik Glacier for the very adventurous.
A quick, flat, 9-mile drive to Palmer gives you access to excellent dining options, visitor center, cute and eclectic local shops, bike rental, kombucha and beer breweries, as well as necessities like post office, Fred Meyer groceries.
Drive a little further to enjoy more hiking, vistas and seasonal berry picking or skiing in Hatcher Pass. Get a taste of history at Independence Mine or Iditarod Museum. Matanuska Glacier offers a uniquely Alaskan Experience an hour from here. All of this a beautiful, easy 50-minute drive from Ted Stevens International Airport. This is a great "Homebase" for your Alaska adventure, from Talkeetna to Seward and everything in between.
