Houghton · 整套客用套房 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · The Retro Roost
This retro, quirky, cozy and private one-bedroom unit with a 3/4 bath, kitchenette and attached garage parking is nestled on Garnet Street hill walking distance to Michigan Tech campus, Jim's grocery store, downtown Houghton, and the Tech Trails, boasting 20 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, snow shoeing, and skiing. Park in the garage and walk directly into the unit! Hosts Adam and Jana live upstairs with their family and dogs. Our space was recently remodeled by host Adam. Adam is mostly a musician, so we'd love to know what you think could be improved. We consider the space a work-in-progress, though we think you'll love it. There is one step into the unit from the garage, and there are two steps to enter the restroom. There is an electric space heater next to the wardrobe by the bed which can be used on a chilly night.
The place was absolutely wonderful! It was clean, cozy, and conveniently located. Our stay was fantastic, and I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.
Had an awesome time staying here and would highly recommend for anyone staying in the area! Adam and Jana were very nice and made the stay feel very inviting.
We were in town one night for my son to tour the campus. He wanted to stay close to campus so he could walk around and explore a but. Was the perfect location, something different, and a cozy place to rest after a very long day of travel! Hosts are active musicians and upon learning of my son’s interests invited him to sit in on rehearsals which was extra special! Wish we could have stayed longer!
An absolutely beautiful hideaway with lovely decor and a perfect location! Within walking distance from the greatest parts of Houghton and within reasonable driving distance from nearby waterfalls and beaches! Definitely a hidden gem and worth the price!
This place was a nice, cozy, well put together, little downstairs apartment. My daughter and I loved it. Highly recommend. The owners live upstairs and seemed to be gone most of the time we were there, but we could hear the dog walking around a couple times. Other than that it was the perfect quiet little place for us to rest out heads after a day of snowboarding.
Just up the hill are 20 miles of trails for skiing, hiking, biking, or snow shoeing. Just down the hill is Jim’s Grocery store, the MTU campus, downtown Houghton and the Houghton canal walkway path. All within walking distance. Drive to Hancock and jump on the Mont Ripley ski runs. Drive a ways north of there to enjoy the best smoked meats in the UP at Fitzgerald’s Restaurant. Or head all the way to Copper Harbor to enjoy a drive up Brockway Mountain and some stunning visuals.
