莱克城 · 整套小木屋 · 2室3床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Aspen Cabin In San Juan Mountains - 2BR/1BA
At 10,500 feet this cabin is located in a remote part of SW Colorado (between Creede and Lake City) and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery the Rocky Mountains have to offer. Come to the Aspens cabin at Oleo Ranch to unplug from modern stresses and reconnect with nature. We offer an unmatched off-grid experience that you will remember for years to come. We are pet friendly, including horses and dogs! Guidelines below. Oleo is 18 miles from Lake City on the backside of Slumgullion Pass. Basically we are between the start of Slum pass and Spring Creek pass in Quite Valley. You can map Oleo Ranch and see our location. It is secluded, offers privacy, and breathtaking views with comfortable accommodations. It’s built overlooking a beautiful valley. The cabin water is drawn directly out of the mountain it’s built upon. Propane gas runs appliances, lights and heats water for the kitchen and bathroom. Electricity is neither needed nor available, and we do have a no generator policy. You are truly "off the grid" at this cabin, and your mind and body will thank you for it. Don't worry, technology, electricity, restaurants and other conveniences are just a short beautiful drive over Slumgullion Pass into Lake City if need be. The cabin is pet friendly as well. Recreational activities around the cabin include miles and miles of scenic trails for mountain hiking/climbing, photography, fishing, or just relaxing. Moose and Elk are often seen and several kinds of hummingbirds are always around the feeders. There is zero light pollution at night so stargazing is one of the most incredible things you will ever witness. The colorful wildflowers in summer, the wind blowing through the Aspens, and the spectacular fall foliage are nature at its best. Five stocked ponds and 1.5 miles of streams provide guests with private fishing, so beginners to avid fly fishermen will have ample opportunity to wet their lines. Peace and quiet is not something you have to seek out... the wind blowing through the Aspens will be the only thing you'll hear while reading your book on the deck. Also, look no further than the area to escape the heat of the summer. Even in the dog days of summer, the average temperature during the day is 70 and nights can drop below freezing. Day trip opportunities "off the ranch" are abundant- anything from climbing one of the seven area 14K mountains, fishing the Rio Grande river, hiking the Continental Divide Trail, renting a jeep in Lake City and driving over Engineer Pass, as well as something as simple as having an ice cream cone, sitting on a Lake City bench. There is so much to see and do in one of the most beautiful areas of the Rockies. Thank you for taking a look at our cabin and we hope to see you there soon enjoying the simple life!
We're thankful we discovered this treasure! Our hostess was outstanding. We received a personal & hospitable welcome. The cabin was spotless & tastefully decorated. The king-sized bed was very comfortable. Our only suggestion is a coffee table that is user-friendly. The one in the cabin is hewn wood - like a boat - pretty but not practical. The location is on a dirt road with 3 trailheads (1 great, 1 good, & 1 not worth the hike). Tumble Creek trail is moderate difficulty with outstanding wildflowers & beaver ponds. We saw moose daily; they like to graze near the creek in front of the cabins in the morning & evening. There is an abundance of deer and hummingbirds. Please note this cabin is nestled in aspen trees. Its view of the meadow in front of the cabins is limited. We enjoyed the shade & birds. North Clear Creek Falls is about 8-10 miles -worth the drive. Freeman has a general store with great burgers & chicken sandwiches. Lake City has great restaurants - 30 minutes.
Absolutely beautiful place. So peaceful and relaxing! The cabin was super comfortable and the propane lights were easy to use. The caretaker was so helpful and sweet. They even left us a nice little gift since we were celebrating our honeymoon. Can’t wait to come back!
A place you will NOT regret!!! It was topped off with the cow moose and her baby :) Plus all the other wildlife (deer, eagle, beaver, whistle pigs, fish and many fighting hummingbirds).
HIGHLY RECOMMEND for leaving stress behind and being tucked away in the mountains. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our stay at Oleo Ranch was WONDERFUL. The Aspen cabin was clean and cozy and just what we needed for a getaway. We loved being 'off the grid' and loved the scenery. We didn't want to tent camp and this was the perfect mix of still being in nature without having to weather the elements. Jeremy was a perfect host. We enjoyed chatting with him and he was very accommodating. We hope to be back soon!!!
Unique opportunity, off the grid, no electricity, and no cell service give you a chance to escape from the regular world we all live in. It is also a frequent chance to see moose in the wild. The cabins are very comfortable and nicely furnished and decorated. The cabins are spotlessly clean. Jeremy the host is very good at making sure you are adequately comfortable during your stay. Fishing is good, the stream is challenging for the novice, but can provide some very good fishing. The ponds are well stocked and have nice size Yellowstone cutthroats, brookies, and rainbows.
Oleo is unique and you just have to stay here to understand why.
