Los encargados fueron realmente amables, el lugar es muy bonito rodeado de naturaleza, se pueden ver muchas aves. En nuestro caso estuvimos en la cabaña #7 y cumplieron con todo lo que prometía la descripción, tienen restaurante y la comida es muy rica y accesible. Pudimos reservar con poca anticipación y solamente una noche que era lo que buscábamos.

The Santa Maria Volcano Lodge is a gem. It is rustic, restful, and in beautiful surroundings. The flowers, foliage, and fauna are a little bit of paradise. Rosalba and her staff are so friendly and helpful. There is nowhere else nearby to eat but the meals prepared at the lodge are delicious and a good value. I would recommend having 4 wheel drive to access and bring a flashlight or headlamp.

Everything was great at Rosalba's place. The only watchout is that without a car there is not much to do nearby. Beautiful garden and welcoming family tho!

These beautiful cabins are set in a volcano mountain town on a lovely creek. Rosalba and Marianna provide excellent service, delicious local fare and solid information about the area. As mentioned in other reviews, 4 wheel drive is good especially if you're planning to access the Santa Maria sector. On the property I enjoyed the hammocks in the covered area, playing with the dogs and very good internet access in the restaurant. In Santa Maria sector, I loved the mud pots for a natural facial as well as the warm springs. Rio Celeste is about 1.5 hours away and is amazing as well. Pura Vida!

This was the perfect place to stay for an off the beaten path adventure! The experience was the perfect blend of Costa Rican culture immersion and rainforest experience. We stayed in Cabana #7 and the walk the Cabana was a serene peaceful walk where you'll see plenty of rainforest flowers and hear birds singing (you can drive there too but we chose the walk which is a short walk.) We were able to have a traditional Costa Rican dinner dish of chicken cooked in passion fruit sauce served with plantains, rice and beans. I  paired it with a fresh passion fruit juice. My husband got the BBQ pork ribs served with rice and veggies and paired it with an Imperial beer. All of the food is locally sourced from the village. The cabanas are a rustic feel but have all of amenities you need for a comfortable stay. There were some small lizards and insects  in the Cabana but this adds to the rustic and authentic experience….Remember you are in a rainforest! Running water, electricity and comfortable beds….Our Cabana had enough room to sleep 6 people although it was just 2 of us. It would be perfect for a family or small group looking for an off the beaten path experience! We heard howler monkeys at night.   The next morning we hiked through the plantain farm and did the hiking path loop around the property. I highly recommend this hike during your stay! Again, we didn't see how monkeys but heard them all morning! We ended our stay with authentic Costa Rican breakfast including the most delicious fresh coffee. We look forward to our stay here again some day and will recommend it to all people we know traveling to Costa Rica!
