This is a very special place to be, directly above the water! What made it hard: February is the wind month, a nippy constant and strong wind and I got sick from it, with a cold and fever and a big cough. If you are sensitive to that, choose another time! Apart from this, the people, who run this place of 6 rooms, Orlando and his son, they are such lovely people and I loved Màgdiel, who took us to two other islands, and was so willing to change for me to go to another, quieter island, when I did not quite like Devil‘s Island. It is a very special experience!

Mágdiel was very responsive and helpful. Particularly valuable given my rucksack didn’t arrive on my flight and I left as planned for Guna Yala next morning. Food was excellent. Compliments to chef (Israel). great team on island. Very attentive.

Magdiel was a great host and guide. I spent 10 days in San Blas. I stayed in 4 different islands and visited a total of 10 islands during my visit. Magdiel arranged my entire stay, from my transportation from Panama City to the islands, all my water taxis between the islands, tours, all my stays, and all meals. He stayed in touch with me every day at least once to check in and make sure I was happy or see if i needed anything. My Spanish is not good, so we used a translator app. What was convenient in going with Magdiel over other guides was that all the transportation and my stays were arranged directly with the same people the entire time. So we knew each other, and they always knew where I was. Don’t be surprised if scheduling and itinerary changes -you are on island time, so enjoy! I was traveling alone and felt very safe in the islands. Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, bug spray, towels, soap, etc. I also recommend a MSR gravity water purifier to help reduce plastic waste.
