It was great to actually be in the National park at the top of the trees with an amazing view. The house has a lot of character which we loved and would stay again. Oppenheimer beach is walkable but steep coming back home. If you are used to cooler climates or air conditioning it’s an adjustment to cook in the main area and gets humid. The upside is that the breezes in afternoon and evening and hearing all the birds is an unmatched experience.

What a slice of paradise! Easy walk to a private beach (although avoid beachfront homeowner Teri Gibney if you can). Beautiful views and Jennifer was an absolutely amazing concierge. We had a delightful time and will definitely be back!

My two grown children, their significant others and I spent a week at Mampoo house in January. Our host Jen met us at the Ferry and we followed her to the house, where she had prepared a generous array of welcoming goodies. Jen texted us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed, delivered water and propane for the grill, picked up the trash every couple of days, and provided some good advice on adequate departure times to make sure we didn't miss our flights. She made it clear that she was available for whatever we needed. The house is very well equipped with everything we needed--we cooked most meals there-- and is only a 10 minute walk to a very quiet beach. It was at this beach that my sons saw the highlight of our daily snorkeling experience: eagle rays. Just a couple of things to consider. Like most houses on St. John, it is built on the side of a steep hill so there are lots of steps up to get from the parking spot to the house. Also, I would advise renting a Jeep or other similar vehicle because the main roads around the island are narrow and very hilly. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we will cherish the memories we created forever.

The Mampoo House is the most breathtaking place to stay! From the beautiful views to the house aesthetics—just wow! It is a fancy treehouse that the kids (now 20 and 17) adored. It was an absolute fantastic stay—clean and organized with everything you will need to cook and explore the island. Jennifer, the property Manager, is the absolute best! Quick responses view text or email, will meet you when you arrive and go through every single detail of the house, offer suggestions, help with securing a rental car, and then meet you to help you on your way home. Jennifer is a gem! I will be visiting again and staying in the Mampoo House.
