This is a wonderful home to book. It is away from the intensity of some of the more touristy spots in Havana which is very relaxing. There isn't the constant bombardment while you walk around. The home is just as lovely as pictured, and having the ocean lapping up to the porch is wonderful. I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of my trip to Cuba and it was the perfect way to end my trip. It is a little bit away from the expected stays in Havana so be sure to give your transport a heads up about that, I took a taxi collectivo to Havana, but they are so used to everyone staying in the tourist spots you have to make sure to explain where you're going. Maria and her family were so welcoming and helpful to me while I stayed. I ate dinner and breakfast there which was great and they got me to the airport on time! I hope to return soon!

Our second night in Havana was a much more relaxed affair, we arrived at this beautiful home slightly early, but Maria and Hilario (I really hope I'm spelling that right) were present and extremely helpful and kind. We felt at home straight away, and I cannot stress enough how beautiful this place is. There's a pool, steps down to the sea, and a seaside terrace from which we watched the most beautiful sunset we've ever seen. We had a lovely sightseeing walk around the area, which is itself a work of art (literally) on the way to the restaurant they recommended. My wife had the best time looking at how creative and bohemian the area is Breakfast the following morning was absolutely DELICIOUS! Coffee, fresh juice, fresh bread with butter and jam, and the most DELICIOUS eggs. And then we were given a lift to the bus station at a mere fraction of the cost of a taxi. We felt like part of th family here. It was a beautiful stay, and next time we'll stay longer and relax more ❤️

Das Haus liegt direkt am offenen Meer. Rechts sieht man die Skyline von Havanna. Das Meer ist von der Terrasse über eine Treppe zu erreichen. Zum Einsteigen braucht man keine Badeschuhe, da Seeigel erst viel weiter draußen auftauchen. Um nach Korallen zu tauchen, muss man erst eine unter Wasser liegende Felsenbank links oder rechts davon überwinden. Diese Felsenbank schützt gleichermaßen das Haus vor hohen Wellen. Hilberto und Maria, die Gastgeber sind ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ihr könnt auch in allen Belangen an sie wenden. Ein abschließbarer Stellplatz für ein Mietauto steht incl. zur Verfügung. Die Aufteilung der Wohnung ist etwas unglücklich, weil das Badezimmer mit Toilette zwischen Wohn- und Schlafzimmer liegt. Das war aber bei uns kein Problem, weil wir uns nicht das erste Mal bei einer Notdurft zugeschaut und zugehört haben. ;-)

We‘re thankful for our stay there. Maria and her husband (as well as her mother) are really nice, helpful and try to facilitate things for you. Highlights are of course the terrace directly at the ocean, the beautiful smell of saltwater, the cooler breeze at there (different than further into the city), and the quiet surrounding. This is really a huge benefit. In my opinion one of the very few quiet places to pick for a longer (or shorter) stay to visit Havana (you‘ll anyway take a taxi to the city). What we want to highlight is our delight for the dinner (and breakfast) Maria prepared for us. It was really tasty and at a fair price. Of course you can choose in the direct vicinity between 3-4 restaurants, too. We would definitely go there again the next time we visit Havana.

Our Airbnb experience in Cuba was beyond amazing! The family hosting us treated us like their own, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
