As many have pointed out, Guy is a great host. He provides good information about the home and places to visit in the area. The home is close to the forest so expect lots of bird song and the sound of a falls. We enjoyed our time in the studio.

We really enjoyed staying at Guys place. Peaceful surroundings. Perfect efficiency apartment for us. Guy was very welcoming and friendly. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

A beautiful place to stay- Guy’s house is near the end of a private no-through road, no passing traffic&surrounded by lush gardens &trees. What really makes the space is the private lanai/balcony area w dining table& comfy chairs, &view out over the back garden, green &lush with tropical trees around the grass area. Sound of the river/waterfall nearby, birds song&frogs calling at night. Great if you love being immersed in nature.(Mosquito repellent provided but bring soothing bite cream!) The space is on the ground floor, perhaps a garage conversion (which felt a little bit odd at first but very soon got used to it), with the bed/sleeping area one end, kitchen area around the corner at the other end and a big sofa & living room area in between. Bathroom has bath&shower. Guy was extremely helpful&responded very quickly to messages. His online guidebook lists suggestions of nearby places to visit, restaurants in Hilo, beaches etc. (NB Good Farmers’ Market in Hilo on Sat morning).

Please don’t miss out on this place! It is super cute and cozy. Guy and Trey really maximize the space and it is very clean. The backyard is so beautiful and it was nice to sit out back for a few minutes to enjoy the sounds of the rain, the birds, and the coqui frogs. If you’re a sensitive sleeper, they have a noise machine that really helps. We slept to the sound of rain. Additionally, Guy was accommodating and proactive when providing directions and instructions. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. We definitely stay again!

Guy gave very clear instructions on how to find the house, which was helpful. The lighting in living room/bedroom can be improved. Bathroom was clean. Cleanness in bedroom can be improved. Overall I gave full stars since it was worth the money. :)
