Firstly I'd like to say that Jaryn is a great host who responded with any questions or requests almost immediately, even on a Saturday morning. He worked with us over and beyond to make our weekend what we needed it to be. The house has the most magnificent view from the living room/diningroom/kitchen, as did the downstairs rec room that had a big flat screen tv (which we didn't use). The wood stove worked like a charm, the kitchen is nothing fancy at all, but we managed to cook a great meal and is perfectly adequate. The weather was atrocious during our weekend, but we did manage to have a great meal out in nearby Great Barrington, and two very short but gorgeous hikes/walks. There is plenty of hiking nearby, and of course, there is the lake. I can only imagine how wonderful this place is in the summertime. Again, it is not fancy, rustic is a good description, but it is very clean, and that view!!! Warmer weather use of the deck, boats, dock and grill I think would be amazing.

This is a wonderful summer lake house and could be worth it for the great deck and incredible surroundings, especially when spending alot of time outside. We just felt that the price was too high for a winter stay bc the interior was more rustic than the price reflects. For over $330 a night we had some issues that we weren't too happy with and it felt too expensive for what we were getting. Having said that, the location is unbeatable -- we wanted to be in nature and it was really beautiful scenery. We dont mind staying in a cabin like rustic environment but the price should reflect the amenities. Positives: great view, nice cozy shared family space, beautiful wood interior. Negatives: heat was blowing hard on bed while sleeping, the oven smoked us out bc it wasnt cleaned properly, the curtain rod in the bedroom fell down numerous times, very small bathroom, the shower wasnt great with a very low stream, and just two really old duvet blankets we had look for.

The house was a perfect escape for the weekend. It was everything you’d want for a lake house in the Berkshires. Jaryn was an excellent host and super helpful with any questions we had.
