Beautiful spot and wished we could have stayed longer (as only there for 1 night). Recommend getting a driver from airport as we hired a car and got very lost so arrived after dark (most roads in Sumba don’t have street signs, some roads are nearly impassable in a 2WD and mobile service is patchy). Although it certainly added to our adventure…giving way to water buffaloes, goats, chickens, horses, dogs, cats, children, lots of motorbikes…and funny trying to buy fuel and ask for directions when the locals can’t understand English and we don’t speak Indonesian. Unfortunately the water visibility wasn’t ideal for snorkelling when we were there - but beach and nearby rock formations very pretty. Food and drinks at resort good and we liked that it was small and boutique.

We had an amazing stay at Sumba Beach House, the staff were so friendly and the food was so fresh and delicious! Right on the beach with surf at the doorstep would definitely stay again!

Had an amazing stay at the Sumba beach house, the bed was extremely comfy, felt like sleeping on a cloud. The views are incredible, local children walking their horses on the beach every sunset. The beach house sits right on the beach which you can see the water buffalo walk past every day around 4:30/5pm. The restaurant is a nice touch, if you’re looking for a more elevated dining experience there is the Alamayah right behind and was the best menu we could find in Sumba, the best place for coffee near by as well! We will be back!

Bel emplacement face à la mer, nous sommes bercés par le bruit des vagues. Logement propre, joli et bien équipé (produits à moustique en prime). Possibilité de manger au restaurant sur place. Rien aux alentours. Plusieurs activités proposées (surf, cheval, etc.).
