I stayed for 3 nights in March 2024 with family. We enjoyed our time at the house. It’s a beautiful property with nice plants/flowers, spacious, clean, comfortable. The neighborhood is nice, plus there’s a small and pretty beach about 3 minutes walk. We even saw turtles at the beach one day. We loved the interior and exterior of the house. The only issue we had was the parking space was tight for our SUV. I received messages before the trip and check-in day with instructions, reminders, local contact. Our host Maria was responsive to questions during booking and also during our stay. My family is grateful that we were able to find an amazing house with a great host.

Spacious condo in quiet corner across the street from a small beach. Balcony has partial views of ocean. Walking distance to a grocery small store. Short driving distance to Paia town and Baldwin Beach, which is great for long walks. Kitchen has everything we needed to make breakfast. They had everything we needed for beach (except beach umbrella, or at least I didn't see one). Rooms were clean. Beds were comfortable but sheets had old stains and a hole. Bathroom had shampoo, conditioner and bodywash. Plenty of towels but they are old and have old stains.

We loved our stay at Hale Makai! The house was clean, well laid out, and had everything we needed for a lovely beach stay. The location was perfect, with easy access to Mama’s beach and conveniently located for exploring the north shore. We enjoyed the kid friendly beach at mama’s, and saw sea turtles every day. Just keep an eye on the tide chart, high tide nearly swallows up the beach, but at low tide it is a calm crystal blue paradise.

The location was great in a quiet neighborhood, close to the beach and to a main Highway. The layout of the unit worked well for our party. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. There were a few drawbacks, however. The unit was not as well supplied as we expected, but the host responded quickly when we asked for these items.
