Our cute and charming rustic Perigord barn with exposed natural stone walls welcomes you! To add to your enjoyment a private pool, open April-Oct (10.5x4m)not shared, set on an elevated site with tranquil views. If you are looking for a getaway far from your daily life, then come stay with us in the Périgord Noir! The beautiful countryside location,11 kms from the Medieval town of Sarlat, that sits at the heart of the Black Perigord in the Dordogne Valley. Petit Gite Monteil is a converted livestock building, which we renovated ourselves. It’s features include, atmospheric low ceilings and low door height, but that all adds to it's charm and uniqueness. Built from local sand stone the thick walls are finished with a natural lime render that lets the walls breathe, and has been used for centuries in traditional builds. It sits on the grounds and is adjacent to our circa 1877 farmhouse. The tranquillity of the private elevated pool area with countryside views is really a spot where you can relax and get away from it all. Steps away from the gite is the 10.5x4m meter pool is exclusively for your use, not shared, just imagine yourself enjoying the beautiful views and relaxing, that's what vacations are all about! The Space: The gite is quite compact, but has everything you need for your vacation. The main level is open plan and has a kitchen with breakfast bar, equipped with a Fridge/Freezer; washing machine/dyrer combo; oven; microwave; hob; hood; Nespresso coffee maker; kettle and blender. There is a little living area down some steps with a 2 seater couch where you can watch TV or have a movie night. The 42 inch smart tv has French Local Tv stations and satellite English channels. Up the Eiffel inspired spiral stairs (these are fairly steep) on the mezzanine level you will find a bedroom with an antique French bed for two people, 140 cms wide. Also on this level is bathroom with shower and toilet. Wifi is available throughout, including the pool area. Perfect for a romantic break and an ideal base for exploring. This place is really special. It is a peaceful haven away from the bustle and towns, yet close enough when you want to pick up supplies, enjoy a meal out, or explore the many sites and beautiful towns and countryside of the Périgord. Michael and Martina are the kindest and most welcoming hosts, truly lovely people who aim to provide you with a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. The home is beautiful, with everything you need and more, and all kinds of thoughtful touches to boot. And the pool is lovely!!!!
Beautiful setting and a great host 😊 Michael met us on arrival and was very accommodating throughout our stay. We especially liked the cheese board with accompanied wine and beer after a long drive. Really good base to go explore, towns, walking, canoe trips, restaurants and gardens all within 30 minutes drive. The accommodation had everything we needed and more!
Michael and Martina are the most super hosts. Before we arrived, they gave lots of helpful recommendations and responded quickly to any questions we had. They then gave us great top tips to make the most out of our stay. The gite is beautiful, private, and in a stunning and very rural location - right up our street! The photos really don't do it justice!! But be prepared for the steep spiral stairs. Locally, you'll have Sarlat about 15 mins away, beautiful villages like Domme, and canoeing on the river.
Le logement est parfait pour être au calme et profiter de la piscine (nous y étions par 42 degrés… donc indispensable!) Michael est disponible, sympathique… Le logement correspond en tout point aux photos. Les plus : barbecue disponible, havre de paix (car logement entouré de verdure) … du linge (peignoirs, serviettes…) disponible et extrêmement propre ! Tout est parfait 👍🏼 Merci à Michael et sa femme et félicitations à eux pour la réalisation de cette maison car c’est une réussite !
Très bon séjour chez Micheal ! Magnifique région, le logement est à proximité des plus beaux villages de France ! Très appréciable Coin très calme, parfait pour se détendre au bord de la piscine Micheal a été très attentionné et réactif, a été à nos petits soins tout en restant discret Merci pour ce séjour et votre accueil
