We were only staying overnight on Christmas Day so arrived late in evening and left mid morning. Therefore we did not spend much time in the area. Our Sat Nav was not helpful in saying we had arrived at our destination when we were at least half a mile away. We found the place by phoning up and being guided in. It can be difficult to locate in the dark. The accommodation was nice and served all our requirements. It was clean and warm. There are some interesting books on the book case and various board games available.

Peaceful cottage. VERY old fashioned. It was very cold - but it was Christmas time. A spare heater inside would have helped. A BIG issue - NO WIFI!! otherwise, everything you need inside, but all very, very dated. As a 30 years long Vegetarian, animal lover, the numerous paintings and imagery of fox hunting was a huge turn off. On that note, meeting David's dog was an absolute delight, she was lovely and got on well with my dog. There was some alarm expressed about my dog though from the owners, which was a huge shame as it was an assumption made about his 'look'!! (Akita/American bulldog), as he has NEVER hurt anyone in his 10 yr old life, ever. The village was very pretty and 'picture postcard'. Great for a bit of peace and quiet, a bit like stepping back into the 1960's.
