While the town is extremely remote, it does have a great BBQ place, Dollar General, and very cool visitor center at Reelfoot Lake with owls, hawks, eagles and snakes which you can get up close to. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of my career in Kansas City and all the work demands and anxiety that comes with it. Within 24 hours of staying at Jerry’s place I was googling real-estate in Missouri for cabins on 10 acres with waterfront. Unfortunately, the home is not in our budget. If you love the country and serenity, this is a great place to reset, recharge, and rejuvenate. My children loved the pond and front yard. I loved the porch and the living room. Jerry ensured a path was made for easy access to water. The grass was green and freshly cut. There were wildflowers. There were eagles, geese, and fish. The mattresses and pillows were very comfortable. Jerry even coordinated with the Lord a mild thunderstorm the first night to help us sleep.
