Welcome to Charlo! My husband Bernie and I purchased this decommissioned United Methodist Church in 2019 as a place to call home for my mom and guests visiting the area. Slowly, while raising two teenagers and working full time (I was a teacher, he drives truck), we have remodeled, repaired and renovated to create these unique spaces in what was the sanctuary. Original hardwood floors, woodwork and stained glass have been paired with all new electrical, plumbing, modern appliances and fixtures. The apartment listing is just that-an apartment. You do have the entire apartment to yourself, but not the entire church building. The main entry, stairs and hall are shared by another apartment and a guest suite. The basement is our storage area, my office and studio. The apartment is located on the west side of the church with three windows overlooking the side yard, street and school. Shutters provide privacy while allowing light to filter through the stained glass. The shared wall is with my mom’s living room/dining area. Once in the apartment, you will have an open kitchen and living area with a desk. There is a small dining table with two chairs, a Roku TV with streaming and local channels, and a kitchen equipped to either prepare a meal or reheat take out. The bedroom is in a separate room in the back of the apartment. There is a mini-split to heat or cool the apartment. Wifi is available in all areas.
