Be under no illusion, this is not the luxury house it is made out to be. The location and the house itself is great. However, small and not so small details badly let it down along with Altido’s lacklustre response and service. Firstly, for a house that can sleep 8, the kitchen is very poorly equipped with a mishmash of chipped plates, bowls and mugs and only one single wine glass! There was only enough cutlery for five. Furthermore, the dishwasher was covered in what looked like black mould which left black spots on the plates. WiFi never worked the entire time despite daily calls to Altido which meant no TV throughout our stay. Looking at previous reviews this seems to be a recurring theme. There were with upstairs shower which took Altido two days to fix and bath also had no plug so not used. Beware the property is not on the ground floor as described with 22 steps to access first floor. This was problematic as we had an elderly relative with us. 10am check out a pain!

This is an outstanding property that could be spectacular with a few minor changes. There are three bedrooms upstairs. One is the master suite that has the bathroom to share. The bathroom has no door, making the toilet not private. Everyone staying upstairs, not in the master suite had to go downstairs to use the second bathroom. Hot water was a problem. They have a remote programable thermostat that is very hard to figure out how to manipulate. Altido needs to ensure the thermostat is programmed properly for hot water 24 hours a day while someone is staying in the unit. We had lots of cold water showers. Yikes. Lastly, the unit is described with a washer and dryer, but is actually one combined unit. We could not figure out how to get the unit to work properly, hence we did laundry by hand and hung it to dry. This could be solved with a simple set of instructions directly above the unit. These things are easily fixable and had they worked properly, this would have been a 5-Star stay.

Lovely spot! As a heads up for people wanting to use the off road parking - the gate is narrow enough that even with folding the wing mirrors in we weren’t able to pull the car through the gate.
