Our home offers a delightful and comfortable stay for our guests, with access to various rooms and amenities on the first and second floors. All of our guests' rooms are thoughtfully situated on the second floor, providing a sense of privacy and relaxation during your stay. Additionally, we reside on-premise, ensuring that any assistance you may need is readily available on the third floor. Kennett House holds a rich historical significance, as it was originally built in 1910 by William Scarlett for his son Robert. The grand house is part of the prestigious National Register of Historic Places and adds to the charm of the Kennett Square Historic District, making it a captivating destination for history enthusiasts and travelers alike. The architectural beauty of the house exemplifies the classic American Four Square style, featuring three bays wide and constructed from durable granite. The patterned slate, hipped roof, partial jerkinhead cross gable, and fracked cornice enhance its elegance. Inside, the house is adorned with magnificent chestnut moldings and trim, adding a touch of timeless allure to your surroundings. We want to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible, and while our heating, air conditioning and Wi-Fi are very good, it's essential to note that being an older house, it may not match the caliber of a newly constructed building. Additionally, there are stairs that you'll need to navigate, especially if you have luggage. However, we believe the historic charm and unique ambiance of Kennett House more than make up for any minor inconveniences. As you explore the area, immerse yourself in the local history and heritage, and when you return to our retreat, relax on the inviting veranda that spans the full width of the house on the south elevation.
