This is a wonderful place to stay! It is so peaceful and the views are amazing from the house. Everything you would ever need is in the house. It is so fresh and clean and cozy in the house. The swing on the porch is so nice. Wish we had had time to make smores outside. Ferne had everything we would need to make smores around the fire pit. Ferne came by to say hello and talk with us. She is so sweet and friendly and made us feel right at home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!

This cozy little cabin was exactly as described and then some. We absolutely loved the old style American country look; it was exactly what we were looking for. What a perfect way to spend a few days away from the noisy suburban life of Philadelphia. It was easy to find per Ferne’s directions prior to check in. Upon check in we were quickly greeted by Ferne who was more than welcoming and showed us where we could find everything. Sitting atop a hill overlooking a farm they once lived on for 45 years. In the distance you will find the Shenandoah Mountains which you can gaze upon sitting in the swinging bench under the porch, where you can relax after a long day at the National Park. Ferne knew exactly how to reach our hearts with the abundance of SWEET TREATS she had so perfectly displayed in a bowl. Only thing we didn’t like is that we had to leave! We visit Shenandoah annually, and this will be option #1 going forward. THANK YOU FERNE AND FAMILY! Truly a perfect getaway cabin.

What a cozy place. Very comfortable, with just the right room to move around. Well appointed kitchen. Large bathroom for a small cottage. The views are incredible. You can see the sunrise and sunsets over the mountains. They had everything we needed. Plus a lot of nice extras. Very easy to communicate with. Loved that they acknowledge our anniversary. We hope to be back soon.

We are repeat vacationers at Ferne and David’s Cedar Nook! The cabin is cozy and stocked with supplies for a full breakfast and hotdogs, and s’mores materials for time by the fire pit. The location is beautiful and peaceful! It’s a wonderful retreat to relax and enjoy time together! We can’t wait to come back!

This was the most relaxing place, with stunning mountain views, a dark night sky, and lovely farmland. It was pristine, beautiful, quiet, and the hosts were very kind. I've never had better hosts. Ferne and her family welcomed us, gave us a history of the place, joined us for a sunset campfire, and even provided breakfast and other groceries. The home was so tastefully decorated and absolutely spotless. I am looking forward to planning another stay. Highly recommend!!
