From Booking Ruth was in contact regarding transport to the island and was extremely helpful throughout our stay. We arrived at a great, central location to explore the island . The property was spotless and local information was provided along with some general tips about the property. The office space had a vast amount of pamphlets, handbooks & OS maps all available to use for exploring, Swimming, horse riding and eating out, as-well as games for the family. The kitchen was well laid out and had everything we needed. All bedrooms were comfortable and had an abundance of storage. Two shower rooms, helped with the morning rush to get ready! We had such a great Time at Mill Barn, Arran we have loved for years but Mill Barn stood out as a wonderful base on the island that we hope to have the privilege of using again! We were on the island during Storm Babet which effected our homeward ferry journey, Ruth’s flexibility left us without the worry of where we would be sleeping.

We absolutely loved our stay at Ruth’s place. From the moment we booked she was in contact to help us arrange ferries etc. the place was like a home from home and had everything we needed. Arran is such a beautiful island…we had an amazing time there. Thanks for all the good recommendations for walks Ruth, we loved them all.

Great stay at Ruth’s place. An easy drive to the beach at Blackwaterfoot, but also to some great walks at Machrie Moor standing stones and Kings Caves. Beds were very comfortable and the barn had everything we needed for a lovely stay.
