The Old Presbytery is a wonderful house set in a tranquil garden, away from the road yet a short walk from the amenities of Haltwhistle, a small town. It's perfectly placed for visiting Vindolandia and other historic Roman sites, as well as the stunning scenery in the area Rachel and Felix are delightful hosts who have made a wonderful space for guests in their home: a suite comprising a spacious bedroom, sitting room and a stylish wetroom with gorgeous sea blue tiles. Breakfast is a feast served by Felix in a bay-windowed dining room overlooking the garden: overnight oats with dried fruits, seeds and compote, waffles and home baked bread with homemade preserves, tea, coffee and juice. It's made me want to up my breakfast game! We stayed for two nights on our Scottish road trip and are so pleased that we are returning this week for another stay on our way home. Would definitely recommend.

My stay at Rachel and Felix’s place was very special. From the moment I arrived I felt welcome and very comfortable. Felix and Rachel are very friendly hosts who go out of their way to make your stay memorable. The accomodation is warm, clean, comfortable and is in a grand, elegant, historical home. The breakfast is one of the best I’ve had in the UK, with lovely homemade ingredients served in an elegant dining room. It’s centrally located and on the main bus route. I would love to return to haltwhistle and stay with Rachel and Felix again. Kerryn 😊

Rachel and Felix were amazing hosts! Responsive and helpful for local recommendations, they gave us privacy in our surroundings, which included a relaxing bedroom, separate living room and powerful shower in the en-suite bathroom. Thoughtful touches included chocolate rocky roads with plenty of choices of teas and coffee. We had fresh milk and cans of pop in the fridge, games, books, cutlery, crockery, underfloor heating, lots of fresh towels, toiletries and a hair dryer. They had literally thought of everything, even fresh flowers! Our breakfast was absolutely amazing, freshly baked breads, pancakes and overnight oats, served with homemade jams and marmalade, all served on Wedgewood bone china cups, saucers and plates, set in a sumptuous dining room with a roaring log burner. Rachel and Felixstowe are a delightful couple who literally could not do enough for us, thank you so much!!! X
