Grundsatz: Wir waren zum 14. Mal in Kenia, jedoch zum ersten Mal in einem Airbnb an der Küste. Der zunehmende Massentourismus in Diani ähnlich zu Mtwapa gefällt uns nicht. Durch Zufall haben wir diese Unterkunft entdeckt und sind begeistert. Lage: Die Lage ist abgeschieden. Wir hatten ein Auto von Freunden. Der Weg war nicht schwer zu finden, wenn man bei Maps die Watervilla nimmt. Von der Kreuzung in Ukunda bis dorthin sind es 20 Minuten, davon 10 Minuten Piste. Die Unterkunft ist absolut ruhig und man hört ganztägig das Rauschen des Meeres. Der Zugang zum Strand erfolgt über das Nachbarhotel (kaum Gäste). Die Strandbucht ist hervorragend zum Baden geeignet. Service: Die Angestellten sind alle sehr freundlich, verhalten sich aber sehr unauffällig, sodass man seine Privatsphäre hat. Ocean Villa: Ein tolles Haus mit Makuti. Der Pool ist nur zur privaten Benutzung und wird täglich gereinigt. Nebenan gibt es einen großen Teich. Insgesamt: Top!

This is a stunning property in a private, beautiful, peaceful location. Aussie Mike and Sabine were very helpful ahead of our stay, including accommodating a last-minute extra guest, and immediately made us feel at home when we arrived. We went as two families and there was space and privacy for us all. Colobus monkeys and bush babies in the surrounding gardens and a resident horse just add to the lovely chilled coastal vibe. Recommended!

Beautiful and rustic place in a magical garden. The view from the place is running and the design was special. Housekeeping was fabulous. The visiting cook was great with some dishes, especially seafood but struggled with others, like pizza. Nice sea breeze kept us cool at night. On occasions of no breeze it became very hot, even with fan. Overall recommended!

We spent a beautiful long weekend at Tiwi Beach as a group of four. The Ocean Villa is enormous and we had plenty of space. The villa is beautiful with traditional Swahili and Kenyan decor. The pool(s) are great if a little warm, rather than refreshing. Martin the chef and Dorothy the housekeeper were fantastic hosts. The food was great and we didn’t have to lift a finger. Make sure you get Saeed to take you to see the starfish - fabulous!

This is the most impressive Airbnb we have ever stayed, not hyperbole, it’s amazing! The house is a work of art, built in the Lamu style, it’s very open with plenty of room to spread out. Very clean throughout with comfy beds and clean premium linens. The villa has a beautiful unobstructed view of the ocean and is only feet from oceans edge so one easily hear the surf throughout the stay. Mike, Sabine, Dorthy, and chef Celestine go out of their way to ensure everything is perfect for your stay and no want unanswered. The chef prepared delicious meals and had a wide range of meals she could prepare. Also, for those concerned, we had zero gastrointestinal issues during our stay as the chef was extremely hygienic. On safety, the combination of the unique geography and the security-guard patrolled compound made us feel very safe during our stay. Access to the beach, Star Fish Island, and tidal pools is super easy via foot. Thanks Mike for an amazing family experience! We will be back!
