Self-contained studio cottage in the beautiful gardens of The Garden House, a 19th Century planters house near the coast at Habaraduwa/Talpe. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the grounds, The Garden Cottage offers a large open plan living/dining/sleeping area with a galley kitchenette, huge double bed and en-suite shower room. Perfect for couples, we can also provide a temporary bed for a child. Guests have shared use of the grounds including our large swimming pool. The large, landscaped garden which gives the cottage its name, is the star of the show whether you are relaxing on the shady veranda, taking a dip in the pool or sunbathing on the deck you will always be immersed in nature. The Garden House is a carefully renovated 1870s planter’s house which has won awards for its design. It provides welcoming retreat which is luxurious yet informal. The emphasis is on relaxation with discrete but attentive service. The Cottage in the garden is a self-contained studio apartment, tucked away in a shady corner for peace and privacy. The Cottage has everything you need to be self-sufficient including an equipped kitchen. Alternatively, if self-catering is not your thing, the cook in the main villa can prepare meals for you on a simple cost+ basis. Meals and drinks can be taken in the cottage itself or outside in shade of the veranda overlooking the gardens and paddy fields. Locally caught seafood complimented by tropical fruits and vegetables are the staple ingredients of delicious and imaginative menus that change daily. Outside is a lush one and a half acre tropical garden with a large infinity pool overlooking vibrant green paddy fields. There are sun loungers around the pool and a hammock for lazy afternoons. The pool and grounds are shared with guests in the rooms of the main villa. For larger parties please enquire about availability for exclusive use of the main villa which if taken together with the cottage we can host up to 10 adults in five double rooms.
