Ideal for a romantic getaway, a weekend in wine country, or some quality time in the redwoods. Peacefully secluded and just blocks from downtown Monte Rio and the Russian River. The main flat has 2 BRs (4 Max). Guests can also rent the lower flat 2 bedrooms, bath & additional kitchen (Total - 6 MAX) Ideal for a romantic getaway near the river, a weekend in wine country with friends, or some quality time in the redwoods with the family. Peacefully secluded among the redwood trees, neighboring the exclusive Bohemian Grove, and just blocks from downtown Monte Rio and the Russian River is Bohemian GrOOve. Dog-Friendly home with host's prior acknowledgment. Your well-behaved, housebroken dog is welcome. We just ask that you don't leave them on the property unattended. This property contains 2 separate units each with their own updated kitchen and bath. ** It will only be rented to one group of guests at a time. A guest can enjoy only the main flat or take advantage of both during their stay (for an additional fee - 6 guest max). The main house is 2 bedrooms with a cozy living room and an updated kitchen and bathroom with a claw foot tub. There is a queen bed in one room, and a day bed in the other room that can be used as 2 twin beds or a full king. It sleeps 4. * If your party is 4 or fewer we will assume you want to rent only the top flat unless you requested the lower unit as well (with an additional fee) Downstairs is a large studio with its own kitchen and updated bath. There is also a semi-private additional office nook with a futon and a desk. Off the office nook is a private balcony sitting amongst the redwoods. It also sleeps 4. (please inquire for pricing.) The main house can be rented separately or together with the lower flat, but guests at Bohemian GrOOve will enjoy private use of the whole property! Enjoy preparing your own home-cooked meals in the well-stocked kitchens or the great dining options close by: The Northwood Golf Course is a public course a few miles away with a nice restaurant and coffee shop with both inside and outside seating. The LightWave is in the town of Monte Rio and is the ideal setting for a local brunch overlooking the community garden & skate park (open on the weekends). The newly opened Boho Manor has a spa, restaurant, and a well-stocked bar and it features riverfront dining. The Blue Heron & Cape Fear are great options in the charming town of Duncans Mills nearby where there are also great shops to explore. A few minutes drive is the town of Guerneville where you will find the upscale Boon Eat Drink, Dawns Ranch, El Bario, and Brot. There are also many other great casual dining options, wine tasting, and shopping options in Guerneville. Occidental & Bodega Bay are also only a short drive with excellent choices for dining out and exploring. Enjoy the days lounging/boating at the Russian River (just blocks away) and in the evening enjoy soaking in the hot tub under the redwood-shaded stars. Day trips are easy to the Pacific Oceans, Bodega Bay, hikes in Armstrong Woods or boating on Lake Sonoma. The Northwood Golf Course is also very close and is open to the public. For wine enthusiasts, the closest winery is less than 10 miles away or champagne at Korbel. Just a bit further is the turnoff to Westside/Dry Creek Road, a beautiful, winding country road with picturesque vineyards following the river up into Healdsburg. This was an old, musty house. So much moisture around windows and sunlight that water was bubbling under the paint. Dead bugs in almost every window sill and the kitchen was not clean. Rugs were not cleaned before we arrived, when I shook them out there were debris and hairs. Despite all of this, the reason I had to end my stay a night early was because we found signs of mold in the home. We had to leave because I am allergic to mold and some of our guests were having breathing issues. Ultimately, this was the worst airbnb experience I have ever had.
Pros: - Beautiful location - Spacious (we had both the upstairs and downstairs units) - Kitchen upstairs well stocked with pots and pans etc. - Nicely furnished - Great hot tub - Relatively cheap for the area Cons - Needed a deep clean. Toilets, sinks and counters were clean, but most less-used surfaces were visibly dirty, and some of the dishes were sticky or had food on them - Not prepped for arrival: Water rusty-tasting at first, heat off, hot tub set at 89º - Downstairs bathroom had a moldy shower curtain, loose tiles and a broken shower knob, and we had trouble turning off one of the lights. (Sarah was responsive about this by text initially but didn't provide a solution and soon stopped responding.) - Steep, debris-covered steps down to garbage bins - Checkout instructions said to clean up any dog hair on carpets, but no vacuum or broom provided - Host wanted to communicate by email outside the app to send check-in instructions. Took a while to sort this out.
Beautiful remote location surrounded by redwoods. Soaking in the tub first thing in the morning was lovely.
The setting among the redwoods is wonderful, and the location is excellent. Close to restaurants/groceries in Guerneville, the Russian River, the coast, etc. Hot tub was clean and worked great, and hanging out by the fire pit on the deck is lovely. Grill worked perfectly and kitchen has everything you need to make meals. Only thing I would note is that that we were a group of three couples, and the set up is not totally ideal for this. The top unit has one bedroom with a good sized bed for two adults, but the other bedroom has a small twin bed. On the lower unit, there are not really two proper bedrooms. There is a bedroom with a bed large enough for two adults, and then an adjacent room with a small double bed. Could work well for two couples and two separate adults/children, though. Also you should know that you cannot really park more than one car at the top entrance, but there is another parking space by the trash bins at the bottom down a set a steep stairs.
It’s was a perfect place for a weekend away. How was so responsive and quickly answered any questions we had. Made sure we had everything needed. Location is perfect to do so many different things. The house was just as described and was a perfect place to just hang out and enjoy the peace and quiet. Enjoyed it and it was amazing!!

Come enjoy the calming quiet in the redwoods. We are a short walking distance to the Monte Rio theater, a few small markets, a few restaurants, and a few beaches. Enjoy the privacy of seclusion with the conveniences of town close-by. Northwood Golf Course, the Pacific Ocean, Armstrong Woods and many,many wineries are only a short distance away. Approximately 1.5 hours from San Francisco.
