We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay at Joel’s. Joel was very helpful, extremely responsive and always happy to go above and beyond. While it may not be super clear, this is an owner occupied unit and you have access to the whole house with the owner co-existing in the shared living spaces. With that said Joel gave us plenty of space and communicated to us via text messages and the occasional morning greeting and when we came back to change. We appreciate the clean house, the pool and the extremely quiet and relaxing sleep we had while staying at Joel’s. Joel’s garden was amazingly curated with gorgeous spring flowers, fruit trees and herbs that he willingly offered us. Extra touches like local recommendations for restaurants, hikes and grocery stores were awesome and on our first morning there he dropped off amazing baked goods from the local bakery. Definitely above and beyond. We would certainly return to Ojai & would definitely recommend Joel’s and would for sure come back!

NOT A WHOLE HOUSE Joel is a thoughtful and generous host with lovely appointed rooms. He also lives in the house with his dog. The kitchen is shared with a single shelf in the refrigerator to use and Joel and his dog are very much in and around the house itself. This was unclear to us in the listing and made for awkward interactions.

Joel was a great host for my family and I. This has been the greatest Air-BNB stay that I have ever done in the history of using app. Every morning and night, Joel would empty the kitchen trash and recycle bins for us. I stayed at Joel’s house for two days and nights. In saying this, every morning, Joel would have local warm bread, granola, and yogurt waiting for us in the kitchen. Additionally, Joel was very knowledgeable of Ojai and its surrounding areas, making it easy for our family and I to communicate in and out of the city. I greatly recommend staying at this Air-BNB with Joel as the host. This experience is a 10/10 overall, and it will not disappoint. Thank You, Yaneth

I can’t speak highly enough about this place! The house is tucked away in a beautiful and peaceful area; we were impressed with how clean it was and how many amenities were available (stocked kitchen, heated pool, toiletries, snacks, etc). Location is convenient - driving to downtown Ojai is quick and very easy. Joel is also a dream host, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. For example - a few guests are sensitive to fragrance, so he ensured all linens/towels were washed with unscented detergent. When asked for a lunch recommendation, he swiftly sent over a number of restaurant names. We are grateful for Joel’s kindness throughout our trip and hope to return to this airbnb in the near future!

We enjoyed our comfortable, fun, peaceful, and convenient stay. The house is located between Ojai and Ventura, which puts you in a great spot for those areas as well as Carpenteria and Santa Barbara. The host has put a lot of thought into all the details and delights that you might want. Our first morning, we enjoyed the nice appliances in the kitchen as well as some welcoming treats from the host. The rooms and kitchen are well stocked with anything you might need, like you are at home. The pool was wonderful and it was handy to have the swim floaties, too. The listing notes something like "owner occupied", so you should expect to see the host here and there. Some people might not like that, but we felt it was a plus. Host was responsive, communicative, friendly and helpful in any way possible. The location was fast easy for all the tennis that we were in town for such as Weil Academy and Ojai Valley Athletic Club has an economical guest membership, too.
