Nora's home on Highland Avenue in Malden was just what I needed and I am glad that I found it. It is indeed only a 12 minute walk to Malden Center MBTA hub. There was adequate parking on Highland Ave. though occasionally I had to park several houses away because my work schedule was odd. I cannot say anything about how it is on weekends, for I did not stay in my romm, but drove home to Maine every Friday night. Using the Orange Line to get around it very easy. Although they chose to do long-headed track and station work just as I started my work assignment, so there were difficulties that had nothing to do with Nora's home. She has many rooms all rented out, so people change from time to time. My schedule prevented me from having time to relax and Meet Nora's family. I only occasionally saw, and seldom heard her 2 boys except for a short time during school vacation. She is located quite close to the hiking trails of the fells area. I did not take advantage of them as I had limited time . The room had no lock and key, but the house did have a key. The shower stall has a brand new faucet assembly that works great. All in all, a positive experience.

Nora and her family were just wonderdul host. They were so nice and kind. This is a great space and I would highly recommend. Value, hospitality were fantastic. I felt safe as well.

The host did not open the door the first night and she did not take responsibility for all my extra costs. I had a terrible experience there. Nora was supposed to leave the key in the mailbox before going to bed. She proposed it when I contacted her before making the reservation. The problem is that SHE TOTALLY FORGOT TO LEAVE ME THE KEYS AND NEVER REIMBURSE THE TOTAL FEES. The day after I asked why I was locked outside when I arrived, she told me by e-mail through the Airbnb platform she will reimburse the hotel fees probably so that I do not contact Airbnb. I guess that she lied to me so that I do not complain to Airbnb within the 24 hours. Thus, she could decide whether she would reimburse me – otherwise, Airbnb would probably have forced her. In the end, she did not reimburse the taxi fees and decided to reimburse half of the hotel fees. Thus, I ended up paying this place much more than needed (around 1/3 of the hotel fees - since Airbnb paid 1/6 of the fees; + the taxi fees). When I arrived, I was alone by night in Malden with nowhere to go, not even knowing if I still had a reservation or if the room really existed. I rang many times and I knocked many times at the door, nothing to do. So I had to find an hotel but everything was booked. I tried 4 different hotels before finding a hotel with an available room. Of course, this implied taxi fees for me. And since there was a really high demand this day in Boston area, the place we found with the taxi driver was really expensive – even though the hotel was common. In the end, it was extremely stressful and I lost a lot of money! As a student, I chose Airbnb because the housing in Boston is really expensive. I ended up paying much more than expected without getting the security of having a place to sleep.

Most things are OK, but the water and warm air is limited in use. For example the time for shower should be not more than 10 mins. Think about your need on facility before making a choice.
