Hi Guys, I'm Sherry! I'm host to two properties that offer different staying experiences. One is my parents, the Mill Pond Lodge! My 63 year old, retired NC Forestry, father purchased this land and fulfilled his life long dream of having a house on the river-- by the sweat of his brow. His name is Gary Mull. As a state employee for 30 years, he lived on humble means. He didn't make a fortune but the upside was retiring young and having more time to do the things he loves. Well, Gary loves to work with his hands and I can assure you nobody loves and respects hard work more than him. The Lodge was entirely built by Gary using trees he cut from the stump (seriously!). He hauled the timber to the sawmill, helped the sawyer cut it and hauled it back to air hack it. 2 years later he used it to build this house. Crazy right?!. That's just the beginning. He's also a skilled mason. He harvested all the rocks used on the property from nearby creeks and hand laid each one. The end result is an amazing rustic riverside lodge that comfortably sleeps 10. Its a cozy retreat where you can sit by the fire relax and unwind or wade in the river and chill out on the deck. Gary and June (my mom) live a couple miles from the property and will make sure you have everything you need. As you can imagine, they aren't really into computers so I'm helping with getting the word out on Airbnb. The second home owned by myself and my husband is the "Modern Rustic Mineral Springs Mountain retreat". It is also a wood cabin, that we have spent the last couple of years making perfect for your stay! It is located in the foothills of North Carolina with beautiful views of the Mountains. It is conveniently located right off of I-40 on the northern side of Mineral Springs Mountain in Valdese. It has a beautiful deck that wraps almost entirely around the cabin and is furnished with comfy rocking chairs and a dining table for your viewing pleasure. The cabin features two Queen bedrooms and two separate living areas with lots of windows to enjoy the view. The house is furnished with all new furniture to make your stay is as enjoyable as possible. We are located less than 5 minutes from the small town of Valdese and Rutherford College. Both have some great local restaurants that you will have to check out while in town. We are looking forward to hosting you at either property. I can promise you a genuine experience.
