first or all you get what you paid for with this place and very basic with no shower, microwave and WiFi but we needed somewhere local to stay. the bulbs blew out on the first night and wendys husband come over and fixed this as the fuse had to be replaced so very proactive. the area it's self we would not consider it ever again as on the Saturday people.decided to build a fire on the green and let it burn until a fire engine arrived. we had constant knocking on the windows and there is litter all over the front (not in Wendy's home). Wendy is a good host and we I said you get what you pay for to keep that in mind.

I had a lovely short stay at Wendy's house. I had everything I needed and it was a great base while I explored the area by walking and local bus. I was able to buy food at the nearby shop and prepare it at the house. It is March so it did get cold so I was happy to have access to the little heater downstairs!

A bit unfair - most people will come here in spring/summer for a short visit - they'll have decent weather, get outside and enjoy the surrounding countryside and beaches and throughly enjoy it. We were here for 4 months through the winter - the days were short, the weather was (largely) awful with 3 named storms in our first few weeks!! Having said that, we were warm and dry in what is, at the end of the day, an old miner's terraced house. We would have appreciated a microwave (managed to find our own in storage) some brighter lights, more electrical outlets, and a few mirrors around the place. Having said all that, we were happy to have the place to live in while awaiting the completion of our new house; Wendy was friendly and helpful and we had no issues. An interesting experience!
