Welcome to St Michael’s, a unique rental that is only a few minutes walk from the historic village of Kippen. This delightful, detached, 5 bedroom house sits in the perfect spot to take in the views of the Trossachs Mountain range. If the inside isn’t enough, you can retreat to the rear deck of this impressive getaway to watch the stunning sunsets then gaze at the twinkling constellations under a cosy blanket. St Michael's is a fabulous place both inside and out with superb 180 degree views. Rent St Michael’s and spread out in 5 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms ( one of which is ensuite), with sleeping space for a total of 9 guests. St Michael’s has 200 sq. metres (2,152 sq. ft.) of space, plus extensive mature gardens. The decked balcony at the back of the house overlooks the rear garden and has the most magnificent view. Restaurants, shopping, family entertainment, and nature trails are all either within walking distance or just a short drive from this ideally located property. Bedrooms and Bathrooms Ground Floor The ground floor has 2 bedrooms: one has a king-sized bed with views to the rear of the property and also has the use of the family bathroom with an over-bath shower. Perfect for less mobile guests, this bedroom allows access to all of the property's amenities without having to worry about the stairs! The other bedroom has premium quality wooden bunk beds and views to the front of the property First Floor The first floor has 3 bedrooms—the master suite with a plush king bed and an extensive dressing room/walk-in closet and an ensuite bathroom with a shower cubicle. The views offered from this room are incredible. A further bedroom has the flexibility of zip and link beds which can be configured as either 2 x narrow width single beds or 1 x king size bed. The final bedroom on this floor with coombe ceilings is fully equipped with a wardrobe, bedside table, kids bean bag and a standard-size single bed. These two bedrooms share a full-sized bathroom with over bath shower. All bedrooms are fitted with black-out curtains and roller blinds. The Living Spaces The ground floor features a roomy and sunny living area with a flat-screen OLED TV with NIAM sound bar to connect your music devices to, nap-worthy sofas and windows that fill the space with natural light. There is room here for everyone to lounge together after a day of activities! From here, access through the French Doors onto the decked balcony overlooking the rear garden and take in the views from comfy outdoor dining furniture. This room also boasts a wood-burning stove for cosy winter nights. Kitchen and Dining The kitchen is fully equipped and stocked, with all of the appliances and amenities you’d find at home, including a NESPRESSO coffee maker and additional milk frother, Nutri Pro smoothie maker/blender, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier and the large pantry has plenty of room for your self-catering holiday groceries. The kitchen table with 4 chairs makes a great “kids table” or a space for you to relax and chat with other members of your group whilst cooking. And don’t forget the outdoor dining furniture on the decked balcony! The exceptionally large, bay-windowed dining room with period style feature fireplace and ample seating and dining space for 8 people is perfect for your group feasts and family board game nights.
Bonjour, La maison est conforme aux photos, avec de l'espace pour 9 personnes. L'accueil par Carole a été très satisfaisant. La maison est située dans une résidence calme avec de jolies maisons. Les instructions très détaillées nous ont été utiles. Nous avons pu nous reposer après avoir visiter votre beau pays. St Michaels is easy to find and set within a very peaceful village. It is walking distance to 2 family friendly pubs. The pictures of the house and the views don’t do it justice!! I stayed with friends and 4 young kids. The house was spacious and well equipped for us all to enjoy our time. We have all said we would like to rebook for next year too.
St Michaels was a lovely place to spend the festive period with the family. The property was large enough for all of us and we had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The house was beautiful, as described, warm and clean. I would recommend St Michaels to other families or groups looking for a great place to stay in such a nice and quiet location.
Kippen is a small, interesting village that is in a commanding position, nestling between the Gargunnock and Fintry hills with extensive views to the north of the Trossach mountains beyond Callander. Kippen and the nearby Kippen Muir are steeped in some of Scotland's most colourful history. Perfectly located for hillwalkers, this property is only a 30 min drive from the heart of the hillwalkers' paradise of the Trossachs.
The name Kippen probably comes from the Gaelic (indigenous language of the Scots) word An Ceapan meaning place of the little stump, outcrop or block. This refers to the geological nature of the village of Kippen as it sits on an outcrop of the Gargunnock Hills.
Despite its small size, the village boasts some wonderful cafes and restaurants and a gastropub: The Inn at Kippen, the Woodhouse, The Cross Keys and Rhubarb Lime to name but a few are only a few minute's walk from the house.
The General Store in the village is open from 7am-7pm and also has a Post Office service.
Time for adventures beyond St Michael's and Kippen? You have plenty of choices. There are loads of family-friendly places to visit nearby: Briarlands Farm, Blair Drummond Safari Park, The Alpaca Trekking Centre, Flanders Moss National Nature Reserve, Argaty Red Kite Centre, Rednock Trekking Centre, Lake of Menteith boat trip to Inchmahome Priory to name but a few.
The historic City of Stirling is only a 12 minute drive by car. Here you will find, sitting atop a craggy, volcanic rock, the historic Castle with the Old Town Jail and Church of the Holy Rude slightly further down the hill. Slightly further away in Causewayhead on the top of Abbey Craig outcrop is the National Wallace Monument.
Located within an hour's drive of Glasgow and Edinburgh International airports, St Michael's has excellent motorway connections to the North and South. There is free off-street parking for 2 cars adjacent to the property. Stirling train and bus stations are a 20-minute drive away and there are regular buses and trains to further afield.
