Ross was a great host from start to finish. The house was easy to find and is opposite a small shop and a few minutes walk from a lovely pub- Lion and Unicorn. The main areas of the house are lovely- living room is very cosy and the kitchen was really well equipped. Only negative comments would that a couple of the bedrooms were very cold even with the heating on- there are a lot of draughts that come into the house- and the mattresses are very very firm. Some people like that, but we found them too hard. Overall though would recommend Ross and the house as a base to explore this stunning part of Scotland

The house was great and well located. The rooms were a good size, and everything was lovely and clean. The description 'luxury' however, gave us an expectation that wasn't quite met. There are a few issues that need to be addressed. The fridge was missing one shelf (and I think a vegetable drawer) I had to stack and balance the food. There was only one small oven tray. At least 2 large ones would be very welcome. There were plenty of pots, but only one small frying pan. There was only one teaspoon. The single beds are only big enough for a child. My very slim adult daughter almost fell out every time she turned over. The toilet seat in every bathroom moved around each time. Very disconcerting. These really are very minor issues, and it was a lovely house for our family reunion. I just feel that its due for a little TLC and maintenance.

Thornhill Lodge was a great respite for my family the couple of days that we stayed! It was in a very picturesque area, with a great pub and restaurant down the road. The home was exactly as it appeared in the pictures, and suited our needs perfectly. Ross was a very proactive and welcoming host as well!
