This house has been a great find for me. I’ve now stayed here 3 times and want to stay again when I’m back in the Bay (hopefully it won’t be full then 😂). What I like most is that there is both privacy/quietness and a nice community of people to hang out with when I feel like it. It’s a mix of some old timers and some staying a few weeks at a time. People spontaneously hang out in common areas and also go for hikes/night out, etc. There are 5 common areas, so plenty of space if you are feeling anti-social and just want to lounge about in solitude :) It’s a historic Victorian house in a great condition. I love the quaint vibe, furniture, and paintings. Very well lit. The place is kept clean! The quietness is great for someone like me who works from home. And not to mention Oakland is an awesome town with lots of culture, food, and nature to offer. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

The Mansion continues to be a fantastic place to stay. Large, gorgeous open common areas combine with lovely outdoor areas to create a calming, inspiring home. There's always someone interesting to chat with as well as spaces for more quiet work. E.J. and Alek do amazing work managing the house, and are easy to communicate with if anything arises. Sincerely an ideal airbnb.

Great place for chilled out longer stays. Heaps of room to work or study. The art and furniture are both amazing as well.
