Leave the world behind you at this charming period holiday cottage with large garden (1/3 of an acre) in a peaceful rural corner of Suffolk, and surrounded by farmland and forests with the Suffolk coast, River Alde and plenty to explore just minutes away at Orford, Snape or Aldeburgh. All the old charm of a period property remains - a massive inglehook fireplace housing a wood burner, beautiful beams, original and decorative fireplaces, with the addition of modern appliances, furnishings and fittings so you have everything you need for a memorable holiday. The property is split across two floors, with an array of reception rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms, ideal for families and extended groups to enjoy. On the ground floor is the stylish designer kitchen featuring a breakfast bar, ideally for those light meals or afternoon cup of tea whilst enjoying the views across the garden and countryside. Located off the kitchen is the vast conservatory, an ideal space for socialising with children running in and out of the double doors, and ample space to play, chill with a good book or enjoy a family meal. At the centre of this holiday home is a wonderful living room, furnished with comfy sofas and chairs around the massive fireplace housing a wood burning stove. Three pretty bedrooms give accommodation for six guests. The ground floor room can be made up as a twin (with two sturdy single beds) or a double (with a king size bed). Both first floor bedrooms sit at the front of the cottage. The first is the master bedroom (with king size bed). The second features a day bed (with trundle) which can be made up as a single bed or a two single beds. There’s a spacious bathroom on the ground floor, off the utility room, as well as the modern shower room on the first floor landing. There is also a dedicated work space with the open plan office on the first floor. The wild garden is a magical place to enjoy with its vast grass area, swing and summer house for the children to enjoy. There are several outdoor seating and dining areas, whether it is breakfast, long lazy lunch or evening BBQ there is the perfect space to enjoy whilst creating special holiday memories. Guests wanting a more energetic stay can enjoy walking or cycling through this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or visit the River Alde (3 miles away) for swimming, paddleboarding or kayaking.

Sudbourne is a village on the road running between Snape, home to Aldeburgh Music, and the historic market town of Orford in the Suffolk Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village boasts its own nature reserve where you can enjoy walks with bluebells in the spring.
Just a short walk from the property is Captains Wood, know for it's bluebelles in spring. While the River Alde is a short cycle ride away.
This unique holiday cottage is in a great position for exploring the region - within minutes from Orford’s ‘English Heritage’ Norman castle, Market Square with a wonderful choice of shops including an award-winning butchers, Richardson’s Smokery, the Pump Street bakery, Pinneys and also the Village Stores. There’s also a fantastic choice of places to eat and drink, including The Trinity at the Crown and Castle, the Kings Head pub, the Butley Oysterage, the Jolly Sailor and a café by the quay with lovely views over the river - a great place for the kids to do some crabbing too!
In the other direction, Snape is one of east Suffolk's most sought after villages, famous for the Maltings, which have been developed into the home of the Aldeburgh Festival and are now the host for a renowned calendar of music events, but also surrounding the concert hall are many boutique shops – and there are many beautiful walks along the River Alde and a pub, the Plough and Sail to visit. The village of Snape also has two excellent pubs, The Golden Key and Crown, and there is the famous Sailors Path, a wonderful four mile walk towards Aldeburgh – highly recommended

Parking is available at the front in the house, and further along in the entrance to the garden. There are train stations a 10-15 minute drive away in Woodbridge or Saxmundham.
