In 2009 my husband Ian and I bought Les Hirondelles and worked hard to renovate a run-down farmhouse and two cottages into beautiful properties for guests to come and enjoy on holiday. We have sought to make the properties a peaceful retreat from the busyness of ordinary life, which is helped by the tranquillity, views, and the local wildlife in this quiet part of rural France. We were attracted to the property because of its beautiful views across the valley and its lovely tranquil location. Shops and bars are not too far away, and the roads around are very quiet for walking, running and cycling. We have been renting the holiday gites at Les Hirondelles since 2011. I have been living most of the year in France for many years, and in 2020 we moved down here permanently and are now on site to welcome guests and answer any questions. I am a keen gardener and grow lots of my own fruit and vegetables, some of which we offer for sale to guests. When I'm not working hard at Les Hirondelles, either out in the garden or on home improvements, I love to explore the local beauty spots. At the end of the day I love a glass of wine with my husband on the terrace. We both speak French reasonably well, but not fluently, so please bear with us if we are a bit slow to comprehend in French. Our daughter-in-law Lucy Harvey (same name, different spelling!) helps handle the bookings.
