Located in Villaviciosa (Asturias) in the north of Spain, this is one of the best-conserved estuaries on the Cantabrian coast. Its wide diversity of species and good conservation status make it an area of great botanical interest.
Other interesting features are the sand dunes and cliffs in the estuaries. The estuary is ideal for Kayak, paddle surf and other water sports.
Very close by you can find many beaches like Tazones or El Puntal at 3 minutes drive.
The most famous and larger beach is Rodiles, around 25 minutes drive from the property or just crossing with paddle surf and Kayak (provided) for those with previous experience.
Rodiles is a long beach of toasted sand that covers 1.000 meters. Behind, we find dunes set in a wide and leafy pine forest suitable for picnics and rest. It is located on the right bank of the mouth of the Villaviciosa estuary and it is considered a great surfing spot.
The beautiful beaches of La Espasa, La Isla or Playa España are as well at 25 minutes drive.
2km away is the small and beautiful historical port of Tazones.
This fishing village in the council of Villaviciosa is situated in a small cleft in the steep coastal terrain. Today it is the centre of gastronomic tourism in the council and specialized in Sea food and fresh fish.
The city of Villaviciosa is 10 minutes away by car. That is the closest supermarket.

the property offers one of the best spots in the North of Spain to enjoy these sports. The estuary and a great surf spot are within walking distance to where Kayak and Paddle Surf rentals are provided.
Experts can easily cross the river in 2 minutes to Rodiles Beach from its right bank which is accessible from the property.
