A nice family getaway! Added bonus, we woke up to a winter wonderland! Feeding the chickens and pigs was memorable for the kids. Fun adventure! Shane & Deanna were very nice.
We absolutely loved it here! It was beautiful in the snow and the whole family were so kind to us. Gave us eggs and local recommendations, and even salted our steps when it snowed. We have four dogs and they adored it—the family even gave us a recommendation to be able to hike on a gravel trail (it snowed bad so normal trails were bad) once they saw we had dogs. Very kind and considerate. Clean, beautiful area about 35 min from Morgantown. Thank you for hosting us!
Come expecting a "peaceful mountain cabin" and you will have a 5-star stay like we did. Pack in plenty of food and water (like other reviews mention, the tapwater has a sulfur smell which may or may not bother you depending in if you're used to it. Also, the hosts provide fresh water.). Also, they are not kidding when they say to follow their directions or you will end up on some rough backroads: It was a lovely drive in and out, with lots of beautiful mountain scenery and wildlife to see, but much more enjoyable in the daylight. The hosts could not be sweeter or more hospitable: The home-made coffee is quite good, and the "onsite fresh" eggs they provided are probably worth the cost of the booking alone. There is good cellphone reception here (provided by a cell booster) but hopefully you won't need it much - the cabin is a great place to unplug and relax in a peaceful outdoor setting. This was a super fun place to stay, would love to come back and experience it again.
The cabin was perfect for my needs , wi fi would be great. I hope they finish the road construction before next stay that was a little bit of a hassle. Overall I really enjoyed my visit.

I am a retired 26 year military serviceman. My wife, Deanna, and I decided to move back to the 800 acre family farm and start homesteading. We currently raise registered Black Galloway cattle, Scottish Highland cattle, Oberhasli goats, 150 laying hens (Barred Rocks & Buckeyes), Broiler chickens, a Hereford sow that we have bred each year, & 5 Honey bee hives. We also have a kitchen garden, plant 1/4 acre of pumpkins, and tend to an orchard with apples, peaches, plumbs, pears, cherries, grapes, raspberries & blueberries. We are a working farm (at our own pace) and enjoy the peaceful country atmosphere. Come, enjoy a visit to the country and have some s'mores around the campfire. We are located 60 miles south of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and 30 miles north of Morgantown, West Virginia. Come unplug & relax with us! We hope to see you soon.
