Ideal, large house, for access to Scarfell Pike and the Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway. Lovely gardens, and totally peace and quiet.

Brantrake House was a lovely place to stay. Being able to take the dog was a huge bonus. Could get to most places within 15 to 30 mins. Peter was very responsive to any queries we had. Getting access to the house was so simple and easy with the instructions we were given. I would go back again.

We booked Brantrake house for a family reunion. The house is beautiful, comfortable, cosy and homely. The living area and kitchen are exceptional and perfect for socialising. the setting is beautiful with breathtaking views as soon as you look out the window. lovely short hike up Brantrake hill behind the house and so much to do around the local area. Peter was a great host, very attentive and helpful with information about the house and local area. we would love to come to stay here again.

Very spacious, especially the lounge and well equipped kitchen. Comfortable and warm which was great as the weather wasn’t very kind to us, to be expected at this time of year and the house definitely made up for it. Nice secluded location with good choice of walks from the doorstep. We went to a couple of great pubs for evening meals, both about 5 mins drive, particularly recommend the Boot Inn at Boot. The host sent us some really helpful information about the house and general area well before our visit. Recommend a stay for groups of friends and family.
