Best Safari ever. We booked at Black Rhino as we had been to Pilanesburg a few times, we liked the reservation, however this time we chose to stay in luxury lodge as opposed to hotel. Accommodation was great, exceeded our expecations. Worked out cheaper than hotel with benefit of being able to eat/drink whenever you wanted and able to lounge around without plenty of space for everyone. Very spacious and well designed, plenty of space for everyone. Amenities were first class and it was a joy to stay at the lodge. Lodge was cleaned each day and Francois our safari guide was always on-hand if anything else was needed. Having safaris with Francois in a private vehicle was awesome. We could go where we wanted and saw a variety of animals every day. Would recommend to anyone looking to go on Safari in Pilanesberg.

This a a wonderful property inside a spectacular game reserve. Marc was responsive and knowledgeable and the staff were very efficient and friendly.

Arene's place is exactly as it appears in the photos. It is beautifully appointed and maintained. The staff are amicable and efficient and were a pleasure to deal with - you literally couldn't ask for more. The house has multiple spaces for relaxation or dining and we used both the pizza oven and the boma area while we were there Black Rhino Reserve is a truly exquisite location and although the game viewing on Black Rhino itself was excellent, we traversed daily into the Pilansberg Game Reserve. We were lucky to enjoy some incredible game sightings in our 3 days there. There are two potential issues you should be aware of: Firstly, there are no air conditioners in the house which may be a challenge if you don't like sleeping with the doors open. Secondly, the house is designed for sharing families and has a very specific room configuration which may not be ideal for all sharing groups. .( It worked perfectly for us, however)

Our stay at Makanyane was incredible. Highly recommended! Chandre is a fabulous host and game ranger.
