There is construction prior to the house where the road is closed M-F 8-3. We were well aware of this prior to the visit by Vacasa. We were a bit worried, but once we arrived it wasn’t a big deal. We either left by 8 or moved a car prior to make sure we could get out. However, if you were stuck, it was only steps to the beach. We did encounter a few bugs and did alert our host immediately. The house had everything needed to cook inside and out at one of the grills. The one thing that would have been helpful would be to have a few staple spices and cooking oil. An amazing place to stay and would stay again. A perfect place for 3 couples to stay.

Sandcastles is the epitome of paradise. We fell in love with the Anahola area on our first trip to Kaua’i in 2014. Staying on this property with 3 couples for 2 weeks was the perfect finish to our birthday/anniversary celebrations. If you love nature and privacy you’ll be ecstatic! While the house has some quirks and shows the affects of sun, salt and wind, it also has the most incredible views of sunrises, surf, and mountains with so many windows and sliders. Interaction with management was positive both before and during our visit. As one previous renter mentioned, parking on the other side of the lagoon was a great way to deal with the road closure. We would love to come back again.

This house is at the very end of Aliomanu Road, just before a stream with no bridge blocks access to the other half of the Aliomanu Road. It is very private with beautiful grounds, and it’s right on the ocean, accessible by just a few steps down the path. Currently access to the house is completely blocked by car, but not by foot , M-F 7:55 to 3.  I believe construction is expected to finish late spring or early summer on the road. One can get around this by getting up before the road closes in the morning, and moving a car up Aliomanu Road, about a mile north on the main highway, and then down the other section of Aliomanu Road, and parking it at the end of the road. You are now an easy 4 minute walk to the house, down one side of the stream, across a sand bank, and then up the other side of the street. Views from the house are beautiful. The kitchen is well furnished. Of the three bedrooms, two have their own baths.  The bath for the third bedroom is down a hall.

We enjoyed this home immensely. The only issue we had was that there was no A/C and for us that made it difficult to get comfortable enough to get a good night's sleep. If I had known there was no A/C, I may not have rented here. But for people looking for a beautiful venue and/or a home that sleeps several couples or families looking for privacy and a beautiful view - look no further!! This place is truly a spectacular find.
