Expensive given mice and limited hot water. We brought a few snacks into the house the first night. Within 30 minutes upon arrival, someone saw a mouse in the living room. The next day we woke up to a shredded bag of gold fish. We contacted the hosts to let them know/deal with the issue. They put down 2 sticky pads and the following morning we had 3 mice squealing for their lives on the 2 sticky pads and saw another mouse sitting on the stairs comfortable in our presence. When reported, the host denied that it was an issue. Considering the quantity and consistency of the mice, it feels like the host is in denial and would not take further action considering the inconvenience. Additionally, it is an extremely large house with about 7 bedrooms, and we only occupied half of the house, yet the hot water runs out after just one shower.

This property was beautiful! The home maintained its historical charm while giving you updated kitchen appliances and bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and the two large dinning areas were appreciated. Each bedroom was spacious, had its own bath which was convenient for a family of 14 gathering. You should be aware, that 3 of the bedrooms are on the 3rd floor. Located up a very narrow, steep, winding stair case not easily navigated by most in our group. The home was located a short drive to the newly renovated hot spring baths and the downtown area which were both lovely. Our host was responsive and resolved a issue we had quickly. Ultimately, the home was beautiful and the grounds were surrounded by picturesque landscapes. The value /price of the home was a bit high and the cleaning fee of $800 was exorbitant in our opinion. Having my entire family under 1 roof was worth the wonderful memories and the pocketbook pinch.

We had 14 women stay here and all were good cooks so to have such a well stocked kitchen was fabulous! The home had the charm of an old house but very updated and modern bathrooms. The only trouble we had was the uneven temperatures throughout the house. Otherwise it was a fabulous stay!
