On the corner by the mini roundabout in Elie, minutes’ walk away, sells delicious daily baked bread, sausage rolls, treats and more.
Ardross Farm Shop
Halfway between Elie and St Monans. Ardross offers everything you need to create a delicious meal using fresh, local produce from the farm and the surrounding area. Open 7 days a week from 9-5.30. Ardross sells ready meals, meat, vegetables, wine, snacks, puddings, logs, kindling and all manner of other delicious goodies. They take advance orders that you collect in the car park, or you can order online, and they will deliver on Fridays.
Bowhouse
Just beyond Ardross Farm Shop, Bowhouse has become a permanent home to several local businesses who all share a common approach and ethos in the way they produce food and drink. Many of these businesses are open to the public for shopping through the week (see below for more information on these businesses), as a rule of thumb most are open Thursday – Saturday 10am until 2pm. The monthly Market Weekends hosted in Bowhouse’s large, covered Market Hall gives the public a chance to “meet the makers”. These take place on the second weekend of every month. The traders love to interact with the customers by offering tasters and information on their product or production process. Bowhouse select traders from across Scotland who follow the same values, with local and seasonal food and drink being at the front of decision making. Butchery @ Bowhouse
The butchery sells prime aged meats as well as BBQ products. Open Thursday – Saturday. The Butchery’s aim is to produce the best possible tasting meat, starting with the best animals from surrounding Balcaskie Estate. They have been reared organically with a fully pasture fed diet.
East Neuk Market Garden – Veg Shack @ Bowhouse
The honesty Veg Shack at Bowhouse, run by East Neuk Market Garden, sells anything that the veg plot has in abundance. They will add fresh stock to the honesty shack for passers-by to shop from. Remember your cash for this.
Futtle @ Bowhouse
Futtle is a small organic brewery, bottle shop, bar and music venue, located at Bowhouse, between Elie and St Monans. The organic bottle shop stocks Futtle beer, available in cans or on tap, over 200 different organic, natural and biodynamic wines and ciders from small European growers, as well as small batch spirits, ready-to-drink cocktails and soft drinks that are made in-house. You can go here for a drink at the bar, you can take-away your drink, refill your drink and you might even be lucky enough to catch some live music. Keep up to date on their website.

The Ship Inn, Elie
This well-known and popular pub has an unrivalled beer garden overlooking the beach and harbour in Elie. Perfect for drinks, locally sourced food and stunning views. During the summer months you might be lucky enough to catch one of the famous beach cricket matches. Indoors there is a cosy bar with fire and Sky TV whilst the upstairs restaurant enjoys the same incredible views as the beer garden. Dogs are welcome outside and downstairs. Booking recommended.
The 19th Hole, Earlsferry
Overlooking the stunning Elie Golf Course in Earlsferry, this is a traditional pub serving home-made food cooked with fantastic local produce. A fire, comfy sofas, BT Sport and Sky TV also makes this the perfect place for a coffee or a drink at the bar. And the dog is welcome too. Reservations are advised.
The Kinneuchar Inn
Located in the village of Kilconquhar this beautifully renovated 17th Century pub champions great food in an intimate setting. Ever changing menu based on locally sourced produce and ingredients. Cosy inside and a lovely outdoor area with seating set within a little meadow.

Futtle, Bowhouse
Futtle is a small organic brewery, bottle shop, bar and music venue, located at Bowhouse, between Elie and St Monans. The organic bottle shop stocks Futtle beer, available in cans or on tap, over 200 different organic, natural and biodynamic wines and ciders from small European growers, as well as small batch spirits, ready-to-drink cocktails and soft drinks that are made in-house. The bar is open, with many wines available to drink by the glass and a collection of rare malt whiskies and other dark spirits open to drink by the dram. Visitors to the bar sit right at the centre of the brewery and brewers Lucy and Stephen are always happy to show any enthusiasts behind the scenes. There are some benches in the outside courtyard, where visitors can enjoy a cold pint or bottle of wine in the sun. Futtle is also home to Triassic Tusk Records, a small label that runs a record shop inside in the bar, selling new and rare vinyl records and hosting the occasional gig.
Craig Millar @ 16 West End, St Monans
Situated in picturesque St Monans, this is the perfect location to escape the busy life and relax right on the waterfront, looking across to the coast and hills of North Berwick, with the Isle of May and Bass Rock in view on a clear day. The outdoor terrace is always popular in summer months and the cosy bar with a fire is a winner in the cooler months. Craig Millar also opened a sister restaurant, The Seafood Restaurant in St Andrews.

It is well worth a trip to the beautiful town of St Andrews and you will not be disappointed with all that Balgove has to offer. Conceived from a love of fresh Scottish fare, Balgove has become a hub for top notch, locally reared, grown, stalked, caught, handmade and prepared foods. You can choose from all the incredible produce in the farm shop and butchery and bring it home to cook, you can eat in the café, the Steak Barn or the Pizza Box. No bookings. There’s indoor seating in the café and a huge outdoor seating area. The Steak Barn and Pizza Box are self-explanatory and all excellent quality. Take your pick!
