Garachico officially holds the distinction as one of the most beautiful places in Spain. In the old town with its colorful variety of typical Canary houses and imposing old building, the history of the former most important port of Tenerife lives one – and merges seamlessly into modern life style with a wide variety of different restaurants, small street cafes and bars.
Close by the old town of Garachico you can go swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing by
* the amazing natural swimming pool of El Caletón

* the typical beach of Playa del Muelle, located in a bay, sheltered from waves and wind.
These two swimming locations have been awarded the Blue Flag, which stands for excellent water quality, high safety and environmental standards. They are complemented by the municipal outdoor pool, located directly at the edge of the sea next to the hirable tennis court.
Several hiking and mountain bike routes start directly from the old town, while there is a marina close by for sailing and motor boat enthusiasts. Furthermore, one of the most beautiful golf courses on Tenerife, BuenavistaGolf (18-hole course/PAR 72), is only approx. 11km away, framed by mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, in the neighboring municipality of Buenavista.

Garachico is well connected to the public transport network of the Titsa buses, and the nearest bus stop is only about a 5-minute walk from the Ático. However, when planning your holiday stay, a rental car will give you the most independence and flexibility.

The highest mountain in Spain is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Parque Nacional del Teide. When the weather is clear the view from the top is breathtaking. However, access to the summit is only possible with prior notification. The daily ticket contingent is very limited and early reservations are recommended.
