We loved our stay in the lake house apartment. It felt so cozy and genuine - clearly a family oriented property with telltale signs of lots of grandkids. The interior was exactly as described - comfortable and unassuming, with lots of space and great views of the lake. The covered porch and gently sloped yard down to the dock and lake was so inviting. We had coffee on the dock, did some fishing, and launched kayaks... only visited by a few friendly dogs. The assortment of chairs, tables, fire pit, toys for kids (and dogs) made it feel like a vacation at a generational family getaway. Pell City is an easy drive (the Mexican restaurant and the Daily Bagel in downtown are amazing). There's a Dollar General right down the road and convenient shopping (Publix and such) a few miles away. This is a perfect property and location for a relaxing family getaway.

This 1 bedroom basement apartment is perfect for a single traveler or couple. Everything you would expect, and more, was stocked for use. Covered boat slip with electrical power was a HUGE help in making this place so great. The not so good is the lack of dining opportunities or a decent supermarket nearby. The truck stop up the road had decent food, but the heavy cigarette smoke there made it nearly unbearable to stay long enough to finish a meal. If you drive 15 minutes to Pell City, you'll find more options, but they are not great. If you an cook your own meals, you'll be much better off doing that. Finally, the place was generally clean, but sink stains and odd, nearly invisible, things on the living room floor made me question the thoroughness of the cleaning prior to my stay. All in all, though, it was fine and worth the price paid.
