This studio was as advertised. Cozy and dated. Lots of nature around but the view out the front, though natural (a small sand dune), limits your horizon and you can't see the lake. But, that's shown in the photos so you know what you're getting. It's a short walk to the beach. The overall development is very nice, lots of places to walk and explore at The Homestead. Our biggest concern, which was addressed, was it was not clean upon arrival. The bed was clean and well made, nice sheets, and no bed bugs; the bathroom was clean. However, there was sand and pine needles on the floor, the main rug had not been vacuumed, there were crumbs of food on the futon, and there were spiderwebs and dead bugs in the corners, by the curtains, by the lights, etc. We brought this up to Vacasa and thankfully they refunded the majority of our cleaning fee after 3 days. But we would have preferred that it was clean to begin with. I would stay at the Homestead again, but not in this unit.

Overall the listing was fine and as expected. However, I paid to have a nice view of the river and sand dunes that our ground floor unit was right up against. Instead, extensive painting and exterior work was going on the entire weekend we booked the rental. Not only was the majority of our view blocked by a large manlift parked outside, but we had to keep our curtains closed because workers were right outside up against the building during daylight hours. We also didn't use the patio at all because of the manlift parked right outside and extension ladders stored there.

We absolutely loved the location we stayed in! We had no idea we were going to be in the Homestead Resort area (we didn’t know what this was), but were blown away by how beautiful the space was! So many shops and restaurants within the resort area. Having river and beach access in our backyard was so incredible for a couple of paddle boarders like us. The water is so incredibly clear and blue! Highly recommend getting out on the water. The space was perfect for just two people. I think three people would be pushing it. The only thing that made me uncomfortable (as a woman traveling) was that there was no deadbolt on the door - there was only a lock on the doorknob. Considering the outside door leading into the condo didn’t lock at all, this made me uneasy in terms of feeling safe. I think Vacasa should definitely consider adding a deadbolt on the condo’s door to ensure guests feel totally comfortable and safe. Thank you Vacasa for a great stay! Already planning on coming back.

The studio was a perfect for my needs (sleep and go), I was volunteering to chaperone for our School camp at LOC and needed a place near by. However, in my first night the toilet didn't work and was not cleaned. I emailed the Vacasa and was assured that someone will come first hour in the morning. After the visit I was informed two options and I took the relocating, it was fine at not extra charge. I was moved into another unit but a dog barked from inside and someone took the key I was supposed to use. I called back to Jenny (not sure in spelling ) who was helpful and assigned me another unit in the same location. It was not too bad, just someone had to come and turn on the water. I understood because this was a kind of emergency. The place was nice but needed a light cleaning - at that point I didn't care much because I was exhausted from the day at camp. This was my first adventure with an Airbnb that turned out relatively well without extra payments. Thanks Vacasa team.
