Cabo Pulmo · 整套客用套房 · 2室3床1.0卫 · 可住5人 · East Cape Escape at Casa Tucan
The surreally beautiful, quiet and remote East Cape of Los Cabos, a tropic desert with miles of pristine beaches, aquamarine waters, cactus-thorn forests and beautiful mountain vistas. Suite is lower level of house located in Castillo de Arena, 16km south of Cabo Pulmo, 51km from SJD Airport. 15-minute walk (5 min drive) to closest beach and sand dune that is a wonderful spot to gaze at 360 views of natural beauty and to catch a spectacular sunrise, sunset or full moon rising out of the sea. Outdoor kitchenette and patio area with lovely view of the Sea of Cortez. Free Wi-Fi. Two bedrooms, one with queen, 2nd with full and twin. Mexico-rustico. Pet friendly. Castillo de Arena is hillside off-grid residential neighborhood that is quiet, friendly and family oriented. Community pickle ball, bocce ball and basketball courts, darts and trading library. The surrounding area is a delight for the photographer or adventurer. To the north, Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park is world-renowned for scuba diving and snorkeling. There are several options for guides and gear. To the south, surfing is a popular sport. The options for day trips, hiking, kayaking, horse riding and exploring are unending. Or just relax in a hammock and let the sea breeze gently waft away your cares. The drive out takes about 1.5 hours because the dirt/gravel road is rough, a 4WD or high-clearance vehicle is recommended. If it’s your first time to the East Cape, we suggest that you spend at least one night in town, San Jose del Cabo. (Depending on availability, we may be able to get you a discounted rate at Santa Maria Hotel y Suites). Most flights come into Los Cabos in the afternoon - it takes time to get your bearings, your car rental, and groceries; so, it’s better to enjoy the historic town a bit, relax and not risk driving out on an unfamiliar road in the dark. If you get your groceries and drive out in the morning, you will be rewarded by spectacular views and the time to enjoy stops along the way. There are no gas stations or groceries store out here so stock up what you need and definitely fill you gas tank before you leave civilization! You’ll receive an email before you arrive with a list of provided items. You may want to have a few carrots handy on the road in case you cross path with the local burros. Be ready to share the road with free range cows and goats. Also, watch out for the occasional dragster who seems to think the Camino Cabo Este is a year-round Baja-1000 raceway. Casa Tucán owners live in the upper level and are available to address any concerns and answer questions. This is a new venture, so we really want to hear your suggestions for improving our site.
We had such a good time at casa Tucan. All you wish for a calm, beautiful stay in this remote area. Roz and Larry made our stay just perfect, fulfilling all our wishes and serving excellent margaritas.
Nice location with super views. Quiet, clean and very comfy. Rosalynn and Jerry are super hosts and serve a mean margarita. We would definitely recommend this place.
Our stay at Casa Tucan was great, the only regret is not having stayed long enough. Larry welcomed us warmly and was always there to answer all our questions. This off the grid community is out of any tourist affluence and this is what we liked about it. Cooking outside with ocean view is incredible. Take the time to go walk on the huge sand dune, 15 minutes walk from Casa Tucan. Cabo Pulmo is 30 min drive north and worth the trip to go snorkeling. Nice beaches all along the drive. Don’t hesitate to come visit Larry and Roz, you won’t regret it.
We loved our stay! The space was clean and cozy. We loved the outdoor kitchen and living room area. Waking up in the morning was amazing - so many birds chirping and you can hear the waves crashing. The hosts were extremely helpful and always there if we needed them. We would definitely come back!
You’ll be virtually at the center of the East Cape Region which extends along the coast of the Sea of Cortez from San Jose del Cabo to La Ribera and Los Barriles at the bottom of the 2nd longest peninsula in the world. Long ribbons of beaches and turquoise-blue waters line the tropic-desert landscape. The trip is for the adventurous who don’t mind getting dusty on the rough ride.
We’re within the area protected by Cabo Pulmo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s about a 20 minute drive to the town of Cabo Pulmo and the diving center. The marine park is home to the oldest of only three coral reefs on the west coast of North America.
The water off our beach is generally swimmable but if waves are high beware of the undertow. The best places for off-beach snorkeling are Los Frailes, Arbolitos (local favorite, day-use fee), and Cabo Pulmo. Turtle laying season is July to October and hatching season is September to December. Whale season runs January through April.
You need a car to get here and to tour the area. A vehicle with high clearance is recommended.
