Your hosts Sue and Bill have renovated a comfortable apartment attached to the main house which is a charming old Queenslander built in the late 1800's. Situated on a 5 acres just 3 mins from Nana Glen village and 25 mins from Coffs Harbour. There is plenty of outside space where you can relax or take a stroll down to the dam and soak up the serenity, listening to the birdsong. Our resident Maremma "Lucca" is very friendly and loves socialising. The sofa bed can sleep 2 extra guests. The studio has been recently renovated. It is a good size for 2 people and has a very comfortable sofa bed lounge. The bed is queen size with a new medium firm mattress. The bathroom is clean and freshly painted and has new amenities. The kitchenette is generous and spacious with new appliances, microwave and small fridge. Expresso coffee, tea, fruit and milk is supplied with some nibbles. Our fresh eggs, and fresh bread are complimentary. As we are rural we are on tank water and use a septic system and ask that you to be mindful to keep showers brief.

The retreat is very nice, peaceful and clean. We really enjoyed our stay here with the sounds of nature and all the equipment. The kitchensupplies are complete and they even left some fruit, bread and jam when we arrived. Sue and Bill are really nice people who love to guide you through everything Nana Glen has to offer. Unfortunately we didn’t had a lot of time so we couldn’t visit all the stuff they told us about… I would definitely recommend staying here for people who love nature! And I would definitely stay again.
We had a lovely two nights at Sue’s place with our dog. The space is thoughtfully renovated and had most things we needed. While Sue and Bill were onsite (the accommodation has a shared wall and adjoining -locked - door to the main house) the indoor space felt private and quiet. We enjoyed walking down to the dam and patting the friendly horses over the fence, and our dog had some playtime with Lucca the resident (intact male) maremma. Hosts are very warm and friendly, and we appreciated the generous food provided on arrival!
Lovely studio on a beautiful property. Sue & Bill are very friendly & make you feel so welcome & at home in their beautiful part of the world. My dog Digger loved playing with their friendly Maremma, Lucca. He didn’t want to leave! This was the perfect spot for us, as we were visiting family at Woolgoolga during the day. It’s an easy & beautiful drive from Nana Glen through the hinterland to the coast. Perfect place to stay & relax. Wish we had longer to explore more around the area, but we’ll be back for another visit!
Orara Springs Retreat was a terrific weekend away location in the Coffs hinterland. The accomodation is new, really clean, and generous provisions were left for us to enjoy. Sue and Bill are relaxed hosts and very easy and responsive for communication. A peaceful setting with a delightful Marima called Lukea to come and visit. Highly recommended!

Nana Glen village is in the Orara Valley which is part of the incredibly beautiful Coffs Harbour hinterland. The village is on the banks of the Orara River and surrounded by blueberry farms and rural properties. The Orara Valley is nestled between nature reserve and forestry areas to the north and national parks to the south.
If you want to visit historic villages, enjoy local wine tastings, see ancient Gondwana Rainforest, wander along pristine creeks and rivers and swim under cascading waterfalls they are all here.
Nana Glen is 26 km from Pacific Highway Coffs Harbour and takes about 25mins to reach the township. Orara Springs Retreat is 3 mins past Nana Glen village on the way to Glenreagh.
The town has a swimming pool, supermarket, chemist and service station. The local park slopes down to a large pool on the Orara River where the locals like to picnic and swim.
There is a fabulous local cafe called Idle In Cafe. Open Wed-Sun for breakfast, light lunch or devonshire tea. All baking and cooking is done on the premises. An old fashioned country cafe with friendly service where you can relax and escape the world for a while.
The village also has a local winery called Two Tails, where you can sit on the verandah overlooking the vineyard. They will provide a range of fine wines to taste and fabulous tapas-style meals. A popular spot for lunches or dinners on weekends.
If you keep driving back to the coast the next town is Coramba which has a friendly pub that is great for lunch or dinner. The Coramba Hotel overlooks local farmland, and with plenty of room for kids to run around, is dog friendly and has one of the best country beer gardens on the North Coast.
Then heading north from Nana Glen is the historic village of Glenreagh. The village has a friendly boutique bakery selling a selection of sourdough breads, great coffee, specialty pies, pastries, cakes and indulgent treats all made by hand on site.
Glenreagh also has the Golden Dog Hotel where they pride themselves on serving up meals to locals and visitors that are delicious, huge and really affordable. The Hotel is steeped in history and is a wonderful welcoming place to pull up a stool and sink a cold beer.
