A quiet oasis, walkable to downtown in a thickly settled neighborhood of historic homes. Only an easy, extremely safe 1/2 mile walk to downtown, you stay in a separate unit behind the main house with beautiful views over North Mill Pond. Spacious studio with bathroom/shower and kitchenette. Shared backyard for a little fresh air. Multiple entertainment venues, dozens of restaurants, and five microbreweries, all within walking distance. The Heron's Nest is an inclusive, welcoming place for all. A spacious studio with 15-foot-high ceilings and oversized picture windows overlooking the water. Queen-size bed, small sitting area, and table for two. Bathroom with shower. Small kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, and Keurig. Cable TV and fast wifi. Yard with seating that may be shared with the owners and their guests.
We had such a lovely stay at Walter and Mary Ellen’s. They were friendly and so helpful with local recommendations. We definitely would return!
Walter and Mary Ellen provided a great place to stay. We loved the easy accessibility to the downtown area with a nice waterfront in the back yard. Responsive and friendly hosts!
One of the coziest places we've ever stayed. Can't imagine a cuter spot to spend a weekend in Portsmouth nor any better hosts
Walter and Mary Ellen’s listing was fantastic. It was the cutest place with beautiful scenery and the perfect location. Everything was easily accessible and would highly recommend anyone to stay there.
We can’t wait to go back! We were excited to stay here just based on the listing pictures and because it was super close location to downtown shops, restaurants and breweries. But Walter and Mary Ellen’s rental was elegant and comfortable to stay in, we equally enjoyed our time staying indoors instead a night out on the town. Extremely accommodating and just hands down best Airbnb rental yet! Looking forward to our next stay!
Thickly settled, very walkable, very safe neighborhood of 18th and 19th-century historic homes. The yard overlooks North Mill Pond, a tidal estuary that connects to the Piscataqua River.
Lots of free on-street parking within a 1/4 mile of the house. We rarely drive anywhere in town, as the farthest venues are still less than a very walkable mile, and many are much closer.
