We had the privilege of staying at 1a The Hook this past month. It totally exceeded all of our expectations. The Hook is very stylishly designed with fantastic attention to detail, and feels incredibly homely with its log burner and soft furnishings. The kitchen is well equipped. The bathroom comes with lots of complimentary toiletries and the beds are very comfortable (with amazing duvets and pillows). Although the house opens directly onto the street, we were not disturbed by traffic or people. With a handy pharmacist, local supermarket, post office and pub within a stones throw, we had everything we needed (and the local launderette has a fantastic drier in case you get a little damp on the Moors). On street parking during the day is limited to just an hour, but between 5pm and 9am is unlimited . However there is a car park just 100m away that is reasonably priced Anna was very responsive to all our messages. And always very friendly and warm towards us Can’t wait to return

The best holiday cottage we’ve ever stayed in! The house was even lovelier than the photos and was incredibly clean and comfortable. Beautifully decorated and considerately conserved. Moretonhampstead was an excellent base with some lovely walks from the door. We really enjoyed a meal at the friendly Italian restaurant Berto’s across the road and our daughter loved the playground by the church. Anna was a fantastic host with great recommendations . We would definitely stay again and thoroughly recommend to others :-)

Quelle jolie découverte cette région avec sa nature, ses animaux en liberté, ces grands espace! Un village paisible avec une vraie âme, une ambiance intimiste, des commerces de proximité de belle qualité, un magasin d’alimentation à deux pas de la maison et une piscine communautaire où le village se retrouve. Il est rare de trouver ces endroits où le temps semble s’arrêter, où on souhaite juste déposer ses valises pour ne plus repartir. Anna propose une maison merveilleusement bien décorée, elle a su gardé l’atmosphère de l’époque, on peut encore ressentir l’activité d’autrefois. Tout est délicat, raffiné et parfaitement harmonieux. Nous avons voyagé 5 semaines à travers la Grande Bretagne pour découvrir ses merveilles mais aussi ses caprices météorologiques. Finir notre périple ici ne pouvait pas être mieux. Merci

What a stunning cottage! The pictures don’t truly play out how wonderfully Anna has furnished and decorated the place. Anna was quick to answer and queries and very helpful when we had a sight change to the booking. Great access to local amenities and other towns (such as Asbhurton and Chagford) that we would highly recommend.
