Graham and Jane were lovely hosts from start to finish. Threshing barn is nestled between two other properties owned by Graham and Jane on their farm. From the moment we arrived they made sure we were taken care of with instructions for the property, a guide booklet for the area and communication throughout. There’s also a wii console and dvd player for rainy days and the property is large enough to enjoy in any weather. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner in our private garden with hot tub which was a favourite with our eldest! There’s a field with football nets and play equipment as well as a lovely ‘borrow box’ including beach supplies if you forget yours! The property is a short drive from Looe and is a great base for day trips while peaceful and picturesque in its location. Thank you Graham and Jane for your warm hospitality 😊
Great host, always attentive to detail. Nice guide book to help newcomers into the area. Happy overall.
This is the first time in Looe and it was great. The pictures don't do this place justice at all..it was better than expected and we all loved it, it was so peaceful, private and Graham was very accommodating and very responsive. I would definitely be coming back. Thank you once again.
East Trenean Farm is set in an Area of Great Landscape Value amongst the rolling hills of Medieval Farmland. Nestled in the heart of the peaceful South East Cornwall countryside, our south facing 17th Century Farm with grade ll listed Barn Conversions and Farmhouse offers 4 Luxury Holiday Cottages. Set in 10 acres overlooking the Ancient Woodland and County Wildlife Site of Seaton Valley, with views to the sea beyond.
The farm is a peaceful rural haven with open countryside, wildlife and ‘big skies’ to enjoy. We frequently see wild rabbits, bats, hedgehogs, woodpeckers, buzzards, owls and other bird species. If you are lucky you may even see a deer!
Cornwall has so much to offer, the SW coastal path and beaches at Seaton, Looe and Millendreath are only a short 3-mile drive away. We are a perfect base for touring both Cornwall and Devon, with the fishing towns of Looe, Polperro and Falmouth to explore close by and attractions such as the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Land’s End and The National Aquarium all within easy reach.
Looe, Cornwall’s second largest fishing port has an abundance of freshly caught fish on the menus of its many lovely restaurants. Fishing trips can be booked from the harbour along with boat trips along the coast. Enjoy the sandy beach or explore the narrow streets and discover the unique shops and cafes.
For those that enjoy outdoor activities, kayaks and paddle boards can be hired from Looe beach. Nearby Adrenalin Quarry has a Water Park, Gravity Park and a Racetrack. There is horse riding and trekking locally in the beautiful Cornish countryside. For cyclists there are tracks suitable for all levels nearby and trails in the Camel and Tamar Valleys. Looe Golf course is less than a mile away with spectacular views.
For walkers there is the extensive and dramatic SW Coastal path with dramatic cliff top views and secluded coves to discover. Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor and their many pathways with locations that have inspired writers, are ready to explore. Bodmin Moor has been designated an International Dark Sky Landscape, an opportunity to see the wonders of the night sky.
For families there are plenty of sandy beaches to enjoy and family friendly attractions such as Dartmoor Zoo, Bodmin Steam Railway, The National Marine Aquarium, The Monkey Sanctuary and The Eden Project all close by. You can even take an Alpaca for a walk!
East Trenean Farm is an ideal location whether you wish to relax and ‘get away from it all’ or explore wonderful Cornwall and all it has to offer. There is something for everyone!
A car (or bike) is essential when staying at East Trenean Farm. Although we are close to Hessenford (and the local Pub), it’s a bit more than walking distance.
There is a Farm Shop in Widegates - about half a mile away and the fishing port of Looe is about 3.5 miles.
Looe has a smallish car park on the quayside and a very large car park on the other side of the bridge - so there’s always somewhere to park there.
Here at the Farm, we ask our guests to unload their cars by the Farmhouse and then park in the guest car park on-site.
There are plenty of local cab companies - so it’s easy to get around if you fancy a night out and don’t want to drive back. Check with us for recommendations.
Exeter airport 62 miles. Newquay airport 35 miles.
Looe rail station is 3 miles, Liskeard (mainline station) 5 miles. Trains run regularly to/from London Paddington.

Graham and Jane moved to East Trenean Farm after falling in love with the area, after many years visiting Jane's family in the SW and later on having a holiday home nearby. After being city dwellers, we moved to the West Country to run East Trenean Farm and have a very different life style now. We live in the main farm house and let the three 18th century, grade II listed stone barns and the recently converted Linhay. The Linhay has stunning views from the lounge and bedroom over the gardens and down the valley to the sea. The Water Mill is a very comfortable and cosy cottage with a "clear-view" wood burning stove in the living room, own garden and shared use of the hot tub. The Threshing Barn has an impressive vaulted ceiling and gallery area. It benefits from having its own garden and use of the hot tub. The Corn Barn is spacious, well equipped and a good choice for families, with views down the valley to a glimpse of the sea. We look forward to welcoming you to our lovely hideaway in the Cornish countryside.
