Excellent directions, communication and easy pick up across the bridge to the house. It's right in the mix of things in McCarthy, just a half block from pickup spot for the shuttle to the Kennecott mine, restaurants and stores. It's a restored home that is decorated with many antiques, giving the place an historic flare. The space has several small rooms and a good funky feeling of years past--like McCarthy! Remember you are off-grid so use of electricity and water needs to be conserved.

We enjoyed our stay at the Spruce Moose. Home was old but well taken care of and super clean and had everything we wanted/needed. This is the upstairs unit of an old home turned into 2 units but we never saw or heard the downstairs tenant. Super convenient to town and shuttle stop, about a block away. There were a few seasonal workers living in tents across the street but they were friendly and quiet and kept to themselves. Check in was easy; park across the river and the person there will call a van for you. The owner kept in contact with us the week leading up to check in and told us how it would all go down. Driving to/staying in Mccarthy is different than most places on the planet earth. Lodging choices are limited and expensive. Not the nicest and newest Airbnb we’ve ever stayed at but this is as nice as you’ll find in Mccarthy. Besides, you’re not coming to Mccarthy to hang out at your hotel anyway. Would stay here again and recommend

It was a great location, easy access to everything, friendly people! Highly recommend this for anyone staying in McCarthy! It was such an advantage to stay across the footbridge!

Really cute place! We actually changed plans and this place was the only one available for the one night we needed so it was kind of small for our group of 5 but worked great for our overnight stay. Amber provided GREAT shuttle service and was so helpful when my husband got sick. We enjoyed our stay in McCarthy, a unique town!
