Set on over 100 acres, our family retreat is secluded and serene. It's a magical place for your group to relax in the sauna, hike, swim in the pool, and cook and enjoy meals together. You will have complete quiet and privacy, while also being close to everything the "NY Berkshires" has to offer. We've spent the past two years lovingly renovating our home to create an airy, minimalist, luxurious, cozy, modern feel, while maintaining many details from the original 1890 build. The house is set on over 100 private pastoral and wooded acres, with a sauna and salt water swimming pool. The large kitchen is a cook's dream with a Bertazonni induction stove, and equipped with everything you need. The main house has four bedrooms with parachute linens and organic mattresses. The white minimalist attic has an additional queen bed and two twins, and a big screen TV. Great spot for kids to have their own spot separate from the grownups, or for yoga and meditation. All bedrooms have organic mattresses with parachute linen sheets for a luxurious comfort when you fall into bed after a long day at the pool. The sauna/spa cottage is a highlight. A beautiful cedar sauna with changing area and shower sits in a small red cottage up the hill from the house. There is a detached green studio built into the hillside with high speed internet, a day bed, hanging chair and a gas stove. Perfect if you need some quiet to create or work remotely... or just take a little time alone. Just down the road is the New Lebanon Farmer's Market, which hosts the best food from local farms, is at the end of the road. The beautiful town of Chatham, with a movie theater, cafes and brewery is just 15 minutes away. Hudson, Great Barrington and Kinderhook are also close by. Visit Art Omi, Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Kripalu, and the many cultural excursions. Hike, ski, or sled on our private trails. Or head out to Jiminy Peak, Butternut, or Bousquet mountains for downhill skiing, tubing, alpine slide, or ropes courses.

What a lovely home, great place for kids & adults alike. Felt like home, warm & welcoming, plenty of space for family to gather or be off alone. Wonderful sauna/shower & pool. Plenty of land to walk on & be in the beauty of the Berkshires. Erika is an excellent communicator. One cannot go wrong here. I look forward to returning when I come back to upstate New York.

We really enjoyed our stay at Erika's house. The design was inspired and the layout was good for two families. The loft space in the attic was perfect for the kids to have their own hangout space. And we are a game/puzzle family, so it was awesome having two seperate large seating areas to convene at. And the property was beautiful; breathtaking views in all directions. The cherry on top was the sauna, which was perfect on brisk mornings.

Gorgeous property - lovely furnishings, well equipped kitchen, stunning setting. The host was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, gorgeous escape.

Erika's place was amazing...the setting is majestic, the house itself is comfortable, spacious, clean, beautifully furnished, and very well-maintained. And communicating with Erika is an absolute joy! I would highly recommend...a magical place to spend time in nature, hike, cook, hang out, and just be.

Beautiful location. So peaceful and exactly what we were looking for with our family. The house itself is great – bedrooms are spacious (beds are really comfy and so many pillows!), the kitchen has everything you need, the dining room lovely (cozy with a gas fireplace and incredible light and view), and the living spaces peaceful and perfect for everyone to spread out or to gather together and be cozy. The kids loved the freedom – space in the attic and so much land to explore. We were there with snow and explored the fields, hills, and trails through the woods which are amazing. We would end the days with a sauna, roll in the snow and then a bath with a view! We are already planning our return and looking to coming back in the warmer weather for the pool! While this time was a vacation for all, we did note that the peaceful studio with great internet would make remote work very easy… Erika was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Known as the NY Berkshires, Canaan is set in a beautiful pastoral setting.
Just 5 minutes down the road is the wonderful New Lebanon Farmers market for all the local food supplies you could need! 15 minutes away is the town of Chatham with excellent shopping, restaurants, coffee bar, bakeries, local brewery, arts center, yoga studio and a classic movie theatre. Omi International Arts Center and Sculpture Park is 25 minutes away. Hudson, famous for its Warren Street restaurants and antiques, is 40 minutes away. And the music of Tanglewood and the Berkshires is just 20 minutes away. Skiing at Bousquet is 15 minutes away, and Butternut and Catamount are 35-40 minutes away.
