I'd say the overall experience is more like flat-sitting for a friend than staying at a hotel--I stayed here for two months for work and was perfectly content, but I think if I were going for a weekend-getaway-type vacation I'd prefer a legit hotel room (which you could probably get for a similar or lower price in the area, depending on the time of year). For a longer-term stay, though, I felt that the place was pretty well-equipped apart from the kitchen; I was able to make do, but if you're planning on cooking for yourself, be aware that it's a very basic array of kitchenware. The location is amazing: the neighborhood felt very safe the whole time I was there, it's right next to a train station, there's multiple grocery stores within a 5-minute walk, and there's an okay bar and a very good cafe on the same street. It's also on the same street as a fire department, so there's fairly frequent sirens, but apart from that the noise levels were always very reasonable.

We had a great stay at Marty’s place. The unit was clean and very easy to access. It is also in a great location, right next to the Red line train. We would definitely stay there again when we’re back in Chicago!

Great spot. Walkable to the Riviera theatre, only 20 mins or so to all the museums and Navy Pier downtown. Would definitely stay again.

Great stay, loved the area and the building. The apartment was so nice it almost made me want to find a place to stay in the neighborhood. Highly recommended 10/10. Marty was great with instructions and response time as well!
